Damn, sorry to hear that man, glad you're OK besides the scrapes and bruises. It could have turned out a lot worse.

Last year I was driving from on the 405 from LA down to OC and around 3am, not much traffic, a coyote runs out on the freeway right under my car, it died instantly and the underside of my car was damaged and overheated, had to pull over and wait for a pick up. The radiator and coolant was leaking everywhere. These things are unavoidable. There's no way we can swerve around them at that speed since that would be even more dangerous for us and other road users.

well, some pictures are, my legs just got skinned knees both on the front and the rear right one cut and bruised. the majority of the damage was to my left arm and right fingers, like i said, i rolled to my left, but now realize should have stayed on my back and let the back pack eat it. ruined one of my fave shirts, necklaces, and almost lost a tattoo, lol..my jaw was a little sore, i think, on the right side for the first day or 2, probably from head impact, but no concussion , broken bones, etc...just cleaned up at home and am healing fine. then i gotta fix the 1000 cc bike , after me. better hitting a beastie on 1 wheel at 60 than 2 wheels at 150 +.

yea, there was nothing i could do , so quick. although i might have made it if i was not on 1 wheel. just bumped over him. the bike does have an electronic steering dampener, i have hit potholes and landed wheelies with the front crooked before, and the dampener corrected it fine. but it was not a factor this time, just the front going up more , and me going off the back. still better than hitting a car though. and flipping over the bars , tumbling.

Ouch, bet that smarted!
reminds me of an incident back in the seventies - guy was showing off at the beach on an RD350 (fast bike in it's day) popping wheelies - until he lost it letting the front down in the top of third gear - shame it was at the beach as all he was wearing was a pair of shorts which ain't much good against a tar sealed road.
Poor sod was like a bloody tomato.

yea, ouch. i always wear pants and helmet, but for every day use , no leathers. i was not showing off to anyone, it was 5 am , on my way back from the store, but the music in my mp3 player was rockin, so i felt like doing it. there were peeps 1/4 mile or so behind me that caught up after i dropped it. Helped me pick it back up, but i was doing it for my own fun. and hoping no cops were watching, not showing off.

i just got lucky, pulled over doing 130 in a 65 couple months ago. ( open desert hiway, no other traffic) was going 170, hit brakes when i saw the state trooper, his radar still hit at 130. he took me in, but was really cool , said he would normally let me go, since i was not endangering others, but the camera's in the car, could get him in trouble if he didnt do his job. its rare that i open it up, outside of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but that day, i was just doing a straight line run for a few seconds. Anyway, went to court, and the DA had not decided to prosecute. I only guess that the cop told me he was writing good things in the report about me, and that I agreed I should not be going so fast. So I got out of that, but after dropping this, i picked it right back up and split, was not sticking around for more police, lol...or the coyote cops...

I thought Navada was unrestricted? Can't really keep up from down here but sure I'd read that somewhere - a while back, mind.

unrestricted as far as speed or stunt riding ? i have never heard such a thing. wheelies and anything over 110 is considered wreckless driving i believe. that is the ticket the officer wrote me when i was going that fast, but like i said, they have not decided to press charges, so far.

i also asked him, while i was in the squad car, that i heard a rumor, ( among fellow riders ) that there is a law in vegas , or clark county, that says the police do not pursue over 110 mph, and if that was true. he said no, there is no law, but their own personal discretion to chase a bike ofcousre, its more dangerous than worth, at least if in city traffic. the one that pulled me over said he will pursue to the end, and i was in the middle of no where, with no place to go that back up units would not have already got to. he also thanked me for stopping for him and asked why. just told him, im not after making you chase me , even though i can out run you, and i know, that these desert roads go to 2 main places. when i got booked, another officer made mention that he used to do 177 on his Hayabusa in the New Mexico desert. love it....do as i say , not as i do, but they were not being pricks , just doing their jobs. i have met asses before, forturnatly, that time they were all cool, just held me under the name "speedy gonzales" for about 9 hours, then released with the court date that is not on the list of their **** to do now.

but if you meant unre-stricted like the Audobon in Germany, or whereever, than no, its not here. They may just overlook it in favor of more serious cases, like busting a meth lab, haha.

i was joking with friends today, about how horrible it would be , to have piercings ripped out from road rash.just to make them cringe. i have 3 down below, a jacobs ladder, i dont think rubbers would protect that, lol, if the jewelry decided to grab asphault while i was sliding. but i dont think i would ever roll to my stomach if i could help it.
