Not really an IT professional but I have been involved in several project in the Physics dept. at my university developing data analysis algorithms for various groups in the particle physics section. Which meant I was mostly in front of a PC coding in C++. Still have one more year left till I get my MSci Physics.

Are there on these boards?
Having grown up on Futuremark with so amny others around my age, how many went into the IT profession? Details on your job roles and what is includes would be very interresting. I am currently working for the company in my sig as Technical Sales Engineer. Basically I do about 70% sales work and 30% engineering when less experienced engineers need a hand or on larger projects these days. I recently moved for the same basic money but am now on performance bonuses etc. I've just turned 22 for those wondering...... How about you guys? |

Network Admin here
![]() Manage about 12 servers, including an exchange box, 6 DC's, about 450 users. It's an all Windows windows enviroment, short of our AS-400 server, which makes it pretty simple to manage. Symantec Endpont Manager, WSUS server, MPLS to 5 other satelite offices, intranet site and so on. It's a great job. Good pay, relatively low stress and since the previous admins were either understaffed or lazy bastards, there is always lots of work to do. |

Network Admin here To the OP I'm webmaster and general help desk support. I originally came from more of graphic design/video editing background. P.S. I was hoping for this thread to be a good joke, something like how many IT professionals does it take to change a light bulb? |
