lol, this whole thread cracks me us... call firefly general rubbish targeted at 12-24 yr olds and the nerd community freaks the eff out. Even a year later, it still makes me laugh.

I still hold true to my statement from a year and 5 months ago... watch it or not, i don't give an eff... but if you do watch it from the beginning it will change how you look at crime and drugs...and just wait till you meet omar.. He is the baddest mofo ever...there is a lot more to him, but i will let u find that out for yourselves.
Are you talking about a T.V. show as if it's real life and meaningful?

You're worse than the old women at work who watch the young and the restless during their lunch break.

I think Jimmy is a pretty cool guy. eh investigates up and doesn't afraid of anything.

Doesn't get any more real than The Wire.

i think what Sparafucil, reactivator11, bungle and I are trying to say is that it is a show that is relavant. It is a show that 20 years from now will likely give just as much insight into the world of crime and drugs as it did today. I believe if you watch the show it will change your opinion on certain things regardless if you are a conservative of liberal. Like i have said before, so much happens in this show from episode to episode, that you have to start at episode 1 and watch them without skipping an episode. Saying i saw 2 episodes (episode 5 and 9 from season 1) and it sucks...just means you had no idea what was going on.

If that makes me worse than the old women watching soap opera's then so be it.

What I'm trying to say is that the show is the kind of show that is so culturally relevant that one would deem that it's appropriate place in the National Register and the Smithsonian.

Maybe that's why there aren't that many viewers. Realism is boring, and crime dramas are overabundant on TV. There is bound to be one show that loses out; broadcast TV has enough shows for drama fans.

Also, a show that appeals more to those people who are in urban areas, and not really those in suburban or rich neighborhoods, then you aren't going to get a lot of people with HBO.

After reading through this thread, I'd like to give the Wire a shot one of these days. I always liked the shows that document different gangs around the U.S. I think it was called Gangland. It seems like The Wire would take a similar approach.

Granted I don't watch a lot of drama shows, most shows out there today have that cheesy, campy, cookie-cutter acting thing going on.. It only takes a few minutes and i'm done lol

Despite that,I do watch CSI though hahaha I like the original Vegas one.

I mostly like reality shows based on occupations.

Deadliest Catch and Ax Men are my two favorites.

Whale Wars and Jockeys are OK but not terribly exciting.

My wife watches Secret Life of an American Teenager BLEH![thumbdown]

You guys think you have it bad, I can't even be in the room when she watches that crap!

I promised my wife I wouldn't tell, but I will anyway. We were out shopping last night, and she wanted to buy some new underwear. Cuz you know.. women love buying clothing and stuff.

She bought SPONGEBOB PANTIES.

What a retarded name for the show. As much as they've been in the media I wouldn't consider the Palin's family life to be "secret".
