well it doesn't get a very good Beer Advocate rating.
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/721/1996/ I'll be honest and I'm not being snobby, but I'm pretty sure the best beer in the world is being brewed right here in the USA nowadays. |

I brought the wine reference up because the same ignorance and pride you are now showing was the same then except in refrence to wine. |

I love Carlsberg full stop no matter what it is, the standard cheaper shite lager is pretty much my drink of choice.
But yeah I have had plenty of Elephant beer over the years too, and somewhat unsurprisingly I like it a lot. It has that same "session" quality taste to it whilst also being somewhat stronger... 7.x%. Check it out, I think you may well like it. |

What people like will be conditioned by what they first started drinking - so some are going to like American beers, some European, some Asian, etc - and some the New Zealand/Australian beers.
Whilst on that topic, some will like ales, some lagers, some draught, some stout, etc. As for the twit that dismissed wines as a drink - I generally prefer the range of flavours and being able to tailor the drink to the meal/occasion - and ABV is commonly well into the 20% range which makes beers weak in comparison. BTW, I was of the impression that the common US beers were in the 3-4 percent range, tops |

Actually the USA has some great wines. And some local, small breweries (the one I tested was in St. Petersburg, Texas) brew some pretty good beer. All the bigger breweries are producing crap though. I was "forced" to become a Coors drinker overseas, and when I came back the first "real" beer after a year of drinking piss hit me like a hammer and gave me that "aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh" feeling again.
