I can't think of a better race for Webber to try and get this. Vettel is in 4th so he will get stack behind the brawn cars. In the cooler conditions the Red Bull cars defiantly have better performance over brawn and from what I understand it's all mostly due to tyres. The Brawns are so good with tyres the just don't grip when they are cold. So it seems brawn are better suited to the desert.

Anyhow if Mark is to do this then he must do it tonight! Tis is by far a big turn in his favor. Also looks like 2nd place is Barrichallo, which IMO he isn't as good at Button and Vettel so he might hold them back from webber. So I hope Webber gets a good shot off the line and maintains 1st.

[shocked][shocked][shocked][shocked] [help]
Yup, in the high temperature and/or high wear tracks the Brawns are very good on their tyres but in the cooler conditions they have trouble getting enough heat into their tyres - one of the reasons I was a little surprised by how light they are running as additional fuel will work the tyres harder and they should have leap frogged the other cars by running longer.
Going to be an interesting race, I hope, and if it turns out to be Webber's maiden win - good on him.

I think you might find they are lighter because Red Bull I think have the superior performance too, and not just the tyre situation. Clearly they have opted to run the Brawns light, and that's so they have a chance of catching Red Bull. They caught Vettel but Webber was just too good. I just hope Webber can control a lead, and not **** it up. When you're being chased you go from being an aggressive attacker to being nervous to protect your position!

I know the feeling as I'm the go kart GP champion for our work. [thumbup]

I didn't see the incident (yet) but according to BBC commentary, Sutil hit Räikkönen, not the otherway around

despite kimi being out now, notice how the investigation was always going to happen after the race ... Couldn't possibly cost Ferrari some points! Probably just a fine ...

Coulthard letting his Red Bull colours influence his commentary a bit today

First time I've ever bet on F1, and put money on Webber to take pole and the win for the first time ever after 130 odd races!

Like all wins, I wonder why I didn't put more on... haha.

I would have been ecstatic anyway, but this is so much sweeter!

Just checked the crash, are some of you REALLY suggesting that was somehow Kimi's fault?

Racing incident, where Sutil hits (apparently due missing proper grip on fresh and cold tyres) Räikkönen's front wheel

There's replay of it, Sutil's in-car video in the end:

(press the red circle with play-symbol on it with Katso next to it)

Awesome win for Webber, he was on fire all weekend. Pity Ruben threw a fit afterwards, and damn Hamilton gets a good car at last and loses a tired before the first corner.

Fitting that Webber wins in Germany given he is the first driver to win after receiving a drive through penalty since MS did it in 2003 I think.

Rubens really should have engaged his brain before speaking to the camera. Everyones jaws just seemed to hit the floor after listening him speak to the TV crew and you could see them thinking to themselves "Did he really just say that?!".

Bad move Rubens. [no]

Sutil confirms that it wasn't Kimi's fault, but just a normal racing incident which can happen in the first corner after pits, he said his own lines went too wide due bad grip on fresh cold tyres, which is why he hit Kimi

I don't think it was Kimi's fault either, but FI and Sutil must be wondering why Kimi hates them soo much....

Because they've got a better selection of Magnum ice creams than Ferrari.

No wonder Kimi constantly runs them off the road. [rofl]
