ah, you're one of those movie critics who think they can do better http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif
Oh come on, just because a normal viewer might not do better doesn't make the movie any less crap than it is, especially compared to other professional efforts it's going against. So none of us can ever not like a song, or a painting, or a car, or a house, or a movie, or anything ever, just because we can't do better [rolleyes]?

I mean come on, Michael Bay's track record is terrible:

Armagedden?
Pearl Harbor?
Bad Boys I & II?

The only reason Transformers is even watchable is because atleast Bay realized what he was making wasn't something to be taken seriously. It was just a fun summer action flick and he knew it. In fact, both he and Shia Labeuf have stated that several times in interviews...

So I find it hilarious that some of you are saying it's one of the best films ever, 10/10, etc... when even Michael Bay himself has said that's not what he was trying to make [rofl].

I'd say you fit in with the average die hard Transformers/Michael Bay fan [rofl].

Ironically, this movie has less ads than the first one..

Good film for the masses i guess, saw it yesterday at the cinema. Everyone was clapping and laughing :)

I enjoyed it, but i like to see a more darker film next time.

You are ****ing insane. What gets me even more is the people giving this film 10/10 or saying it's in their top 10 movies of all time! Seriously, how can certain people view this trash as one of the greatest films they've ever seen??? I'm all for people having differing opinions, but there comes a point when i have to question their sanity.

I think it has alot to do with childhood memories,
I loved the whole Transformers trade and tbfh,
I also enjoyed both movies.
Same here. So I admit the bias helps in this case. I thought the X-Men, Spiderman and Superman movies were crap because I never liked the originals. Same goes for Batman. I really liked the Comic series, so the movies could have been worse and I would have probably still liked them just for the fact to see my childhood toys on the big screen.

The Transformers movies are by no means what you call "great film making", but they have awesome special effects (I call that art) and they do what they are supposed to do: Entertain you. No more and no less.

Ufkkrxcq 06-25-2009 05:53 PM

In terms of product placement, that's not exactly the worst I've seen (referring to the first one, haven't seen the new one).

There's a movie called "And God Spoke" where moses comes down the mountain and says "I bring you the ten commandments... And this six pack of coke"

To quote myself, a few posts up

"the popcorn chomping masses who used to watch the original cartoons when they were younger. People who probably already think that Michael Bay is a celluloid manipulator of genial proportions and every new pop culture reference, flash graphics shot, explosion and the continual smattering of T & A reinforces that opinion."

This movie was terrible, and i actually like Michael Bay but this seemed like something directed by McG...yet McG did a way better job with T4 than this train wreck that is Transformers 2.

The desert scene was like clone of the first movies desert scene, except longer..in fact the movie really drags along brainlessly. I could also barely see what was happening in the robot fights, they are too detailed and move too fast. Its even harder to see the facial expressions

I honestly did not enjoy watching it at all, it was like something a 12 year old would have dreamed up.
First movie totally blew me away, i had the DVD on pre-order as soon as I left the cinema, but this movie was childish and embarrassing TBH...its the kind of movie that gives action movies a bad name (i.e. brainless with no story and perv'ing on girls).

Also Megan Fox, yeah yeah she is beautiful etc etc, but honestly shes a terrible actress...she either should stick to being a model or start playing some serious roles now..if she wants to be the next Jolie, she needs to be a better actor.

^^^

that's more or less how i felt about the 1st one. It was worth a watch for the eye candy and digital sound, but aside from that, it was almost embarrasingly bad.

Imampaictjg 06-26-2009 06:52 AM

It was as I feared..it was just ok or a little above average but still entertaining, it was cool with that background story and all that..but the first movie was better and tbh, they could have made this a lot better but it seems movie makers have lost atmosphere creating or something I dont know..http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/unsure1.gif

i really don't see what everyone is complaining about. Just got back and the 2 people i was with, i was only one who really wanted to see it. Result...all three of us thought it was a great action flick, and better than the 1st. What is all this talk about plot and acting? Did any of you watch the cartoon? There was no plot and the voice acting was equally bad there. This movie was about 3 things. Transformers transforming. Lots of **** blowing up. Megan Fox running in slow mo. It delivered on all three. To each their own on complaining, but complaining about this film seems pointless to me, as the basis is a 20 yr old cartoon targeted at 8 year olds.

ZAtlLVos 06-26-2009 03:08 PM

whats with all the megan fox thing, can't say I care about her in the screen at all, just give me some bots http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/wacko1.gif

For those who hated the movie and praise for nothing but megan fox, quite shallow yourself aren't ya.

So im assuming youre all 8 years old.

Youd have to either be 8, or have a single digit IQ to say this was better than the 1st.

Or maybe youre the kind of crowd that will accept a low par movie as brilliance. This movie has "cash in" written all over it.

An action movie can be good without being completely brainless and senseless. Ironman, The dark knight, and the first transformers are proof of this.

Though i guess if youre the type of person whos looking forward to GI Joe, transformers 2 will be your cup of tea.
