did i say it was brilliant? nope

If you think the 1st one was brilliant, then maybe you need an IQ test. It is an action flick. It is just as mindless and low par as the 1st. That said, for 2 hours of it i was entertained. I am the type of person who went into this film looking for something similar to the 1st movie. Transformers transforming. **** blowing up and megan fox. I was not disappointed. The 1st one was just as corny, had less plot, equally bad acting and about 45 minutes less action than this one. I guess you just went to an action movie not looking for action. This movie had more plot and more action than the 1st. IMO, since that is what i was looking for in a movie based on a cartoon from my childhood, i was not dissappointed.

The 1st movie had good story build up, great character building, well placed effects, good unforced humor.

This second movie was just a jumble of nonsense, sure the first few min were great with the giant crane transformer, but the movie is just downhill from there. The desert scene being a painfully long completely pointless rehash of the one already done in the first.
Coupled with two really annoying sidekick "gangsta" robots, and a Transformer with a beard and a walking stick...yeah

Are you ****ing kidding me ?

Good story buildup ? What build up ?
Great character building ? You have no idea ?
Well placed effects ? Explosions everywhere....all the time.....most serve just as distractions in both films.
Good unforced humour ? What humour ? Cheap pop culture jokes and stupid one liners. The only times I was laughing was at every plot hole, stupid dialogue and product placements.

The second one may be worse but I based my opinion on the the first since it's the one I have yet seen. It's better than the first one but it's not good either.

Film was a bag of $h!t.

Great special FX.... sure.

Great action.... sure.


$h!t story - was to be expected - but this bad!? Even beyond my expectations.
So many missed opportunties to make it better.

The fricken' robots died or were destroyed too easily.

No development of the decepticons.... again.
Half of them didn't have names or spent a few mins shooting a weapon before getting destroyed. Most of them did not speak a word!


Oh, and by the way - does Spielberg have any influence or input in this movie, despite having his name plastered as Executive Producer!?
Because he should be ashamed of this piece of cr*p.

The Twins - why did we have to put up with the almost racist sterotyped Robot versions of Jar Jar Binks?

The Fallen was a p*ssy! Prime killed him with no effort. What a weak, anticlimactic final battle.



Sorry Bay - but embarrassingly, McG managed to produce a better film than you lol!


Bay says he doesn't want to do the 3rd film... please don't.

WTF Bay - f*cking weak! weak? they are used to destroy starships in other movies, what is so questionable about them being able to do this. What you have is a dense projectile going hypersonic... all they had to do was kill one of the decepticons to tumble the other 4 or 5.

Audi R8 decepticon could have been a very cool character - on screen for 30 seconds and destroyed it was on screen for longer than that, but idk what you want... a ton of bots were going to die in this one, a backstory on everyone isn't feasible. Just pretend the audi had a red star trek suit on and move forward.

i can actually say i much preferred the two token ghetto boys to jar jar. Actually laughed a few time between their interaction with his roomate. What you have to understand is that the Transformers are more like mimics...they are mimicking personalities on earth that are similar to their own.


The fallen was a *****, compared to Prime...especially after prime had just been suped up with "ancient" blood so to speak. I hope he carries around those jet parts in his trailor for the next flick.



Here are a few questions i have: What about the sliver of the cube that they had...that fell out of his shirt, why couldn't they have used that to ressurrect optimus similar to how the decepticons stole the other sliver to ressurrect the decepticon?

Do ya not think we have ground based radars that are capable of detecting a huge object attached to one of out military sattellites?

So... all we need to invade china's airspace whenever we want is a giant, transforming robot that can do amazing karate?? we should invest.

I think you misinterpreted my displeasure at Devastator's demise - it was too quick and brief.
I'm not doubting the Rail Gun's power - but one shot and that's it!
I was hoping for a bit of a fight.
If you've seen the 1986 Cartoon movie - Devastator takes on the Dinobots.
I personally think it would have been better if it was similar too that.
I'm sorry but Devastator was truly wasted as a character in the movie.

But why kill him off so easily!?
Why not use the opportunity for it to fight Sideswipe a little.
Also give the Arcee bikes a bigger role in the fight.
Again - a wasted character which could have been used more.


Not asking a backstory on every decepticon - but out of those numerous decepticons - how many talked? Not many?
Maybe some of the movie could have been filled with less irrelevant scenes (eg Sam's mum going bonkers), and used more for character development.
This was supposed to be the darker, "decepticons get their revenge" movie.
I think Bay should watch Empire Strikes Back for some lessons.


The twins - bit of a love them or hate them scenario.
Bit did he have to make one of them bucktoothed?
I personally think they could have had a little less screen time.
(Less annoying than Jar Jar - agreed. But getting stung repeatedly on the d!ck by a wasp is less annoying than Jar Jar!)


The final fight between Prime and The Fallen was poor.
Why not evenly match them? Make a contest out of it!?
For an ending to the film - I was expecting better.
Preferred the Prime Vs Megatron fight in the first film a lot more.




As an action movie - it was fine.

But as a Transformers movie, IMHO it was pretty poor.
It just annoys me that a few tweaks here and ther could have made it a lot better.


Let's just put it this way - I watched the first movie twice.
I wouldn't pay anymore £££ to see this again.

This was a great movie, the CGI was superb, the camera wasn't zoomed in all the way all the time so I could actually see some of the fights! Great effects, sound, music, and transformers is ready for yet another sequel! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif

Enjoyed the movie, it was the only movie I have seen that gave me a headache due to the non stop pounding of gunfire and explosions.
One bad point :- I hated The Twins. No need for characters like that, the first movie didn't need them but did have that god awful section where Optimus and the rest were hiding around Sam's house. Crap !!!! [cursing][thumbdown]

The house scene was way more funny than anything in the sequel...unless dog/leg humping and fart jokes are your thing.

Nope didn't find that funny either and the house scene was not needed at all.
