Well she's mine now for the princely sum of £400 8-)
Little damp inside engine runs fine no signs of dodgy head gasket worst piece of rust is the fuel filler everywhere else is cosmetic and best of all the whole History of the car is complete http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3576/pa250037.th.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/4615/pa250027.th.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/5286/pa250025.th.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/556/pa250036.th.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8701/pa250026.th.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7911/pa250028.th.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/3746/pa250035.th.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/1839/pa250034.th.jpg http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/1630/pa250029.th.jpg http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3678/pa250033.th.jpg http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3816/pa250031.th.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9352/pa250032.th.jpg http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/3382/pa250038.th.jpg the bloke was a little upset to let go but I promised him he can have a drive when shes done up :) so that's a scooter and a BMW to do up now \m/http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/devil1.gif\m/ the cars a long term project though. please Ignore other thread as Ive abandoned it. |

Nice E30!
The main thing to watch out for on those cars is the cooling system. The radiator, water pump, and thermostat housing are all prone to failure. Visually inspect them often and replace the cooling system every 3 years (only costs ~$250 for everything). Other then that, they're very solid, reliable cars. Underneath its very similar to my E36, but a good deal lighter. Should be a blast to drive. Join the forums over at bimmerforums.com...its a great community. |
One of the few BMW body styles I like although, personally, I'd prefer a 2 door coupe[thumbup]
Have fun, matey, and make SURE the heater works http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif |
We had the best versions of the E30 here in SA, hence why they are still extremely popular here.
We had 2.7L 325s, and 333i which had the straight six from the old m5. Even today these cars are ridiculously fast, my previous mechanic had one of the most powerful ones in the country running nitrous and twin turbos. |
the 327 was a less powerful car http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif
the e stood for economy which meant a 2.7 ltr with only 120 hp lol you Americans and Africans and your crazy emissions never mind..... I should read threads better in future .. |
Thats where youre wrong, we had the 325iS, which had a 200HP+ 2.7L motor. It was tuned and developed by Alpina in conjunction with BMW Motorsport SA. The car was also lightened and strengthen in places.

In fact id love to see a modern tuned e30 go up against a new M3 on a track, im sure on a twisty track the new e90 wouldnt keep up with the nimbler and precise e30. |

I would be weary of having a 20 year old canvas roof of anything european though. Hell, my Mk2 GTi is hard enough to keep dry. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif Just make sure you keep the BBS. |
