I bet he never cheated and used the walls in Gran Tourismo to get round corners, that's why he had the skills.

If it was pure skill he'd have been out of it in 1 or 2 corrections, not 90. Is he a better driver than most soccer moms, sure. Would I let him drive my Lamborghini? Hell no!

I love how he casually just turns off the radio after the incident, and doesn't make a peep. Now that's genuine relief right there. [rofl]

Did we watch different videos? I saw about 4-5 corrections. [rofl]

With that said, I have seen many pros take many counter steers to correct their car. I am not saying he is a pro but that video shows that the driver knows how to handle a car.

The key here is the unexpected nature of the slide.

When driving on the limit you expect the rear end to slide around, and as such can catch it quickly with very little input.

However if it's completely unexpected and you have been nowhere near the limits of grip, it seems to happen alot quicker and requires alot more input to manage the situation.

My conclusion? It was skill that saved him, and 4wd http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

So would I.
He reacted quickly, but the second countersteer was too strong... he almost lost it there. But then again, these manoevers aren't exactly the easiest to pull at 150kph so kudos to him no matter what.
Yeh i agree... he's no expert, but he did very well. Just like you say, a bit too much correcting. [surrender]

My god... I love how everyone here is a closet Schumacher. [rolleyes]

I don't think it's that. We all accept that during the actual skid it's totally different....but when you can analyse his actions on video it makes it easier to point out what he did wrong.

Which wasn't much, just a bit of over correcting.

ashleyjoseph 08-04-2009 08:17 PM

He obviously has skill, just not "mad skillz".

If he had no skill he'd have ended up upside down in a ditch and the "luck" element would have been used to determined whether his arms were still attached to his body.

what would happen in that situation if you apply the brakes to slow the car down (whilst taking corrective measures).

Brake+Oil+Turning = Fail

MyOwnStyle 08-05-2009 05:59 AM

Wait, if it was unexpected why was he filming?

Just sayin....

Probably a new car and he was doing that film it going fast and put a vid on youtube thing

But I think he done very well, I sure as hell would be happy with it, makes you think though, my concentration levels are generally quite low when I'm driving with regards to things like this, around this area I'm usually looking out for weans, terrible drivers and terrible road surfaces.

Need to get my concentration back up

People tend to have increased concentration while going 90~mph http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

viagra-kaufen 09-04-2009 07:54 AM

Assuming he's pretty much a normal everyday driver, I'd say that was damn skilful, especially since he wasn't expecting it and was going pretty fast, very scary situation to be in, ofcourse it's easy to theory craft and say what he did wrong when you're sitting at your computer and not in the driving seat...[rolleyes]

casefexas 10-04-2009 03:38 PM

In my professional opinion if that happened to me I'd probably end up playing pinball with the other cars.
