But Gitmo actually is a beautiful place. I think she was talking about the place and the bay and not specifically about the detention center in it. It's like saying that just because you love New York, it doesn't mean that you love riker's island prision.

That's exactly right Santeno. While it may be easy to pass judgment on here, people shouldn't do so without actually reading what she wrote. Here's the quote that the inaccurate headline is pulled from:

So what, she likes the view, and I must agree that Guantanamo is a beautiful place. Just because there is a controversial aspect about it it doesn't mean we can say it is a nice place. For all I know, maybe it's one of the world's most beautiful place. Maybe we just all have to lighten up..?

I agree with Vexed. Not all models are "air-headed twits", just like not all Asians are good at math (surprise, surprise -.-). It's pretty low to say something like that, and that is probably why that "stupid model" stereotype is still around, because everybody typecasts them as beauty>brains.

Besides, nobody saw the entire transcription of what she said. It could easily have been taken out of context.
