it is $2.49 in the states, but still not worth it imo... let you brits enjoy "music" from computer programmers, i don't see it doing too well over here. Who knows though, but it seems that the demo that music is targeted at is more in to hip hop stateside.

Fat of the land debuted on the US charts at Number One and sold 2 million copies.

Their one and only truly good album.

Their one and only truly good album.

To be fair though, at the time FOTL was released, the U.S. music scene was inundated with big beat from the likes of Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and the rest of the Astralwerks label, and also Crystal Method. In that environment, it isn't hard to sell 2 million records. Also, having a track in Wipeout XL didn't hurt, as most of us in the U.S. were finally being exposed to good electronic music through that series.

But yeah, FOTL was, and still is, a freaking awesome album.

I've never been much of a fan of FOTL. It lost a lot of what made Experience and MFTJG so great. There were some good tunes on there though, and i was crazy about Firestarter and Breathe when they were released in '96 (back when i was a maniac 14 year old). I think the greatest thing to come from that album was the video to Smack My Bitch Up, such an awesome video!

Well to be fair the rest of the CD consisted of some Fluke, Photek, and Future Sound of London. If you don't think those are examples of good electronic music, then there's something wrong with you. j/k...

Just had a quick listen to the top link on Youtube and the first couple of minutes sounded good, is there any recordings I can listen to since Youtube live quality often leaves a lot to be desired.

Well,there is a torrent out there,a legal one as the band released all of thier first album for free a while ago.

Even though it's legal though I'm kind of reluctant to post it as I've suffered from "moderation" in the past from similar types of things.

Also I couldn't find any links to it with lots of seeds.

The Prodigy was the break through call to arms for the genre when Margaret Thatcher moved to banned / criminalise rave and rave culture! Hence the song 'their law'
Although The Prodigy's genre does range from dance, rave, punk to rock and reggae

seems they have gone back to the good old 'Music for the jilted generation' sound and it's just brilliant!

You cannot even say the name of the new album and Jilted.. in the same sentence [no] This new album is somewhat decent (poor choice of an opening song), but it has absolutely nothing on Jilted. Jilted is a masterpiece, while IMD is just a decent random album.

I doubt they'll ever top Jilted Generation, that's possibly my favourite album of all time.

Yep and their sound certainly has never evolved as much as it did between Experience and Jilted Generation. Jilted Generation has aged well. Experience on the other hand was far too genre bound and today all that house piano and Alpha Juno hoover sounds pretty cheesy.
