I'm afraid your only defense is an amazingly useful tinfoil hat,it also protects against aliens and the hostile governments of the world.

Put the 65's on the back and 60's on the front.t You want the thinner tires on your steering.

I think that follows the idea that understeer is easier for most drivers to control than oversteer.

Personally I don't mind if the back comes out a little.

My Audi went in 2 weeks ago for 2 new front tyres and when I collected the car they had changed all the wheels around and the new tyres were on the back of the car. When I questionned them about it I was informed that new tyres should always go on the rear of the car. Kyros is correct

Kyros is correct
of course he is.

it's all down to safety and driving in poor conditions. safety is always going to be number one.

i put the theory into practice about a year ago. brand new tyres up front, worn ones on the back, wet road, back end stepped out at 70mph and i slammed into some tree's. it's always possible that was due to my driving, but its at least something to think about.

also, logically, a brand new car (or set of four tyres) will wear at the front more on a front wheel drive car so the rears always have the better tread. so theres no need to keep swapping them round...

however, does this mean on a rear wheel drive car it would be best to swap them every so often where possible to keep the wear at least even.

.
.... or you could just rotate them at decent intervals and wear them down evenly so that you can purchase 4 brand new tires each time.

Why are you guys focusing over old and tyres? He's already said the "old" tyres are in good shape.

The fact is one pair is 65s and on is 60s. That number refers to the profile (height from the rim). Now since I assume he drives forwards rather than reverse (I hope) you want the higher profile tyres on the back and the lower profile tyres on the front.

wrong

the 60/65 is the profile [rofl]

ie the height of the Tyre wall when looking at it

you are both wrong. best tires go to the driving axle

meaning, if it's a FWD, they go to the FRONT
if its a RWD, they go to the back
and if its a AWD , usually to the back as it has 55 vs 45 percent driving force on most cars.
thanks [yes]
lol... rant rant... lol
You're both wrong & serb is correct... best tyres should always go on the axle which is delivering power.

So... FWD cars... best tyres on front... RWD, best tyres on back.

Obviously AWD vehicles are a bit more complicated because it depends exactly how the power is balanced between front and rear... but if it's 50/50 then I would put them on the front due to the steering.

... that's for safety anyway

I like drifting... so it's good tyres on the front and crap tyres on the back in a RWD car

you don't know what your talking about.

where do you 'drift'?

do you think drifting is what most people want? no.... they don't. it's not safe.

tool.
