Hahaha, funny thing is i started drinking last year and still didnt gain any weight.[thumbdown] My motabolism is ultra fast, if i miss a meal i can lose a few pounds thats how fast it is. As fast as some people gain weight i lose it. I gained weight by eating like a mad man and eating when i wasnt hungry and working out everyday. Trust me it wasnt easy. Even now if i miss a meal ill probably be back down to like 145 or something, i have to eat alot just to stay at this weight![rofl] ![]() J/K ![]() I wish I was like that...believe me losing weight is way more difficult that trying to gain |

Does anyone else agree that the so called weight standards are bogus?, I mean for my height 6 foot 1 It says I should weigh 185 pounds I think. I weigh 225. But people now tell me I look healthier with the extra weight. From the age of 18 to 34 I weighed in at 180 lbs, couldnt gain no matter what I did and I always got called skinny, scrawny, lanky and other terms that frankly pissed me right the hell off.
Oh and good job hannoo |

Hanoo, good job buddy. I'm sure you're already reaping the benefits of losing all that weight. Physically and mentally
![]() I read that you lost some weight by switching to diet sodas instead of regular ones. If you take out the sodas completely, and switch to water ( i know, it's hard ) but you'll get to your goal quicker ( not sure if you've already done this ) The closer you get to your goal weight, the harder it is to lose it because there's not a lot of fat to lose anymore. Skyward: I think the standards are a bit under weight but it also depends on the muscle mass of the person. I'm 6'1 and used to be 235 (very overweight for myself). After losing 50 pounds and at 185 ( 6% body fat ) I looked 'skinny'. At 195 (6% body fat ) I looked proportionate. I felt comfortable all the way up to 200 and anything above will start to slow me down in sports ( soccer/basketball/mma ). My weight goes up and down rather quickly, so I range anywhere from 190-210. I think it will vary from person to person and what they do and how they feel about it. |

That's so awesome! I've been working on losing weight also. What I did was cut out everything like soda and sugary drinks. Only drink water now (and booze). Also, I no longer eat sugary things or snacks. I made my portions smaller and I don't eat late at night.
Here's my progress: August 2008 ![]() January 2009 ![]() |

congrats man, it is indeed amazing to see your self in before and after pictures.
also did something like you in a year span, lost ~40 lbs here's what i wrote on another forum on how I did it I lost ~30 lbs in 2 months last winter when I was taking NNT at SAIT, was losing 3-5lbs a week. I'm 5'10, was ~230lbs, in 2 months I was down to 200lbs. basically I was working out at WHC for 1-1.5hrs mon-thurs after class and before I work, what I would do was 20min cardio, then 8 3x10 exercises (different body parts every day) and I was still eating as normal breakfast - coffee/green tea and pastries lunch - pizza, burger, viet sub, pho every friday dinner - all I would eat was a sandwhich w/ occasionally veggie dip or soup when I dont go to the gym anymore but I do boxing now instead (still 3-4 times a week), I'm at 188 right now, my goal is to get to 175-180 by spring. Been 188 since december now, kinda pissed. I might be just losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time My goal is 175-180lbs by summer. So starting this monday again, I'm going low carb diet again (no rice, smaller portion of bread, etc) |
