Motion Sickness..I think I got it

I have noticed lately that most FPS games (dont have to be a shooter, just when the camera is in first person view or close third person like AoC) gives me some small head aches so I did some readings on motion sickness and I think I got that simulation sickness that is a smaller section of it. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blink1.gif

I dont know why I got it lately, I have never had trouble playing before so I wonder if there is a good way to get rid of it. I read some of the treatment and the only thing that might work is some mild drugs that I could prescribe but I have to do some more readings bout that first,I wanted easier stuff to try first. [no]

Anyone got an idea? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif

there is nothing wrong with you as the problem lies in the unnatural FOV

consoles are responsible for all dam games having a too narrow FOV

A few things I'd suggest:

Sit a good distance from the screen where you aren't straining to see what is going on. Don't sit too close either. You gotta find your happy medium.

Maybe you should try playing with different lighting. Don't play in the dark. Maybe you have glare from a light that might be bothering you too. Experiment.

Try playing on a different screen. Maybe there is a refresh rate that is bothering you?

I get extremely motion sick normally. I'm talking, I watch someone on the merry-go-round and I feel like I have to vomit, so I know exactly where you are coming from. When I try to play computer games it always ends badly for me, even after playing Guitar Hero for too long just the movement of the guitar fret on the screen makes me sick. A few things that I have found help me out the most:

1) Staying cool, I find that if I am warm and playing games I will break out into a sweat and will feel that much worse.
2) Play in short spurts. When I play MOHAA for instance, I will play a through a few checkpoints, then alt-tab out and browse the internet, etc for a few minutes to let my body recuperate.
3) Try not to focus too hard. I find the more intent I am on the game, the worse I feel, and the quicker it sets in.
4) My best results have been from drugs, ha. I take a Dramamine (common motion sickness pill) about a half hour before I know I'm going to be gaming for a bit. Lets just say my LAN Party essentials kit had my Dramamine right alongside my computer itself.

Hope that helps.
