What do YOU need to survive? (school project)
 

Hi,
I´m doing a school project with the theme survival and I need your help. If you could answer my question with just a line or whatever, that would be great. I don´t want to say very much about the project more than this :)


The question: What do YOU need to survive?

Survive in a literal sense day to day or am I engaged in a prolonged battle with a Zombie infestation?
It's little details like this that would alter my need for various tools.

and where theres clean water their will be food so no worries there
then build some shelter

Start at the bottom, go up as each layer is satisfied. So food and water, shelter and clothing first.

A gun.

Japanese idols.

*This is assuming the classic island scenario. I'm sure it can provide food and shelter, but the one thing I'd bring is womens. Gotta repopulate ya know.

From the most immediate need down.

1. maintaining body temperature
2. water and salt
3. food and vitamins
4. shelter (may be part of 1. in more severe climates)
4. psychological needs: security, stability, attachment

I´d also say we need a bit more info, like Puzzle already said, the situation is one of the main factors here on deciding how much of what

I can give you a few.

Shelter.
Water.
Medical.
Food.

Principals.

Stay Calm.
conserve energy
Think and plan.
Determination no matter what.

that is all you need.

The thing was that I wanted poeple to interpret the question freely. That´s why I didn´t want to give away any details. For example, what do I need to survive: in todays society, on a desert island, tomarrow, etc. I thought it would be fun to see how everyone interprets the question.

I went without it for a week and went through withdrawals. True story.

My backpack.

(When I think of that, I think that I am lost in the woods, or it is a dooms day type thing, not necessarily nuclear war, but some kind of war)

My backpack is loaded 24/7. It is always ready to go if something happens, or I want to go camping. All I have to do is throw some cloths in, toiletries and I am ready to roll.

All I have left to buy is a rifle and a GPS and I am set.

Funny how no ones mentioned oxygen, gravity, even a planet in a habitable zone would suffice

I really wish people would stop reading too far into things.

you don't survive on oxygen unless your in an emergency survival situation like trapped under water and you have to try and Eek it out as much as possible by not talking taking shallow breaths until you are rescued

survive = to live long enough on the bare minimum until rescued

If you want to survive, you'll need oxygen and the like just as well. The OP didn't specify, so he's not wrong - you do need a stable environment that suits life in order to survive... It's just a matter of interpreting differently: we assume that's a given, others may not.
