What I don't get is why nobody helped him. They had time to stop the bus and get everyone off before anyone even tried to do anything. Maybe the guy would still have his head ffs. [thumbdown] There are easily 10 people within 3 feet of the guy. 20 hands versus 2. It could have been over in 10 seconds.

It's so horrible to see how people on a plane will all scramble to help if someone is attacked when all of their lives are at stake but people will simply run off a bus when they can save themselves.

Simply ridiculous. This happened in my own province! I don't remember hearing of anything so wacked out or gruesome in this area like that ever before.

The attacker was like a robot, killing the kid while being totally calm. No yelling, no cussing, no making crazy loud noises. Then he proceeds to cut the kids head off.

It's almost as if his mind snapped or something evil was controlling him remotely. Scary as heck.

If I was on a bus and a dude starts sawing a guy's head off with a hunting knife, I'm getting the phuck off that bus.

Its hard to say what anyone would do in a situation like that until they are accually faced with it. By the looks of it .. it was just initial panic which is a common reaction. From reports they did kinda get their act together afterwards but not in time to save the guy.

The kid was probably annoying him with the 'hiss' of the headphones.

If you are mentally disturbed (as this wacko clearly is) that can be enough to push you over the edge.

Watch what you play on your mp3's kiddos.

One guy does something like this and suddenly you're condemning the whole of humanity? [rolleyes]

The guy had a knife, what where they supposed to do?

Edit: And besides, it sounds like it (the stabbing) happened pretty quickly.

I saw this on CBC news last night but they didn't go into any details beyond the kid being stabbed. What a total nut job. Seriously tragic that things like this still happen, and in view of 30 some other people. It sounds like it happened so quick that no one could have prevented it. The beheading happened after the victim was already dead (that's what it sounds like anyway).

Same here. I'm not a ninja, and I don't carry weapons. I'll leave the heroics to someone who can actually throw a punch. I'd just bite and pull hair, then get shanked.

Why wouldn't I be serious? This is a horrible case, yes, but that doesn't mean the whole of humanity should be condemned on the actions of one man.

There are many more reasons besides this one man that have made me lose hope on humanity long ago. How much time you got?

I was just reading about it before I read this thread. Absolutely shocking, I couldn't even begin to imagine what seeing that ****** up **** would have been like. Jesus.

I've had a similar moment before though, where I was at a street party and some one all of a sudden went up to this couple and started stabbing them with a broken bottle. I think it was something to do with one of them cheating on another. That was rather scary
