Just read this story about a teenager killed by a 16 year old because he gave him a 'dirty look', the offender gets 'life' apparently but it says he needs to serve a 'minimum of 12 years':

How is 12 years life?! It's more like 1/6th of life it would be a disgrace if he got out in 2020 and has robbed that boy and their family forever. There aren't many things I envy about America but their length prison sentences for murderers is one thing I do...
