Can only assume you have already seen Band of Brothers. Did you watch the series "Life" when it was on last fall/spring? Worth a watch. [yes]

Try being stuck at home 24/7 with two damaged discs in your lower back - and being unable to stand or walk for more than 20mins at time. - and even then only by taking 20mg of Vicodin a day which just pushes the pain down to the point of being bearable.

It sounds like you need a new doctor. 20mg a day isn't going to cut it for that kinda of injury.

They started me on 2x5mg. Reading up it appears that in the US the lowest dose available is 10mg pills, but here in Europe they seem to be a LOT more cautious.

They doubled me to 2x10mg three days ago - and its helping - it pushes the pain to just bearable. The weird thing is, as soon as I am laying down I am basically pain free - but standing and walking is progressive agony.

Start watching battlestar galactica. From the very beginning with the mini-series.

That kept my evenings after work occupied for a month or so
