We live in a society that punishes people for small scale murder, but once you get up to killing or maiming hundreds or thousands it is really hard to get jail time.
Dude, I'd say it's even worse than that. Once you get past a couple thousand, you're in the folk hero category too. If we can find a way to justify your behavior and/or cast you as a patriot to your "nation-under-siege" you might as well be a lesser god.... -=Vel=- |

Why do we treat these people like folk heroes? -=Vel=- you should be punching your politicians instead, and not guys like him, as even though he greased the wheels, he greased because "if he doesn't, his competitor will"... and ultimately it is the political "buying" power that politicans encourage which create all this/such mess... I mean punch him for running Lehmann into the wall, but what to do than with Rummy, Wolf, Dick & co for 100k+ dead in Iraq... but in this particular case, at least his company went under, he lost a clear (and only) billion... sure he has his pension what not... so he is still millionaire, but he pales in the likes of Paulson, Bernarke, Greenspan and especially political arm of this all in White House, Senate and Congress... So whacking him is a relatively poor choice, but easily "understood" target... people should in reality be whacking those holding the public office now, and 20 years prior, but in reality this would not get them too far... so instead they should be voting... or in the case of Aggie... sitting at home and not doing anything at all... |
