Weird that JCpenny would want to associate themselves with *ahem.*

But still, it makes you think. And commercials that make you think tend to be more successful at getting your attention than ones that don't. [yes]

I think they're trying to appeal to the Teenager demographic that'll appreciate the commercial, rather than the old-and-crusty demographic that's likely to grab their torches and pitchforks when they see it.

The guy also didn't account for any protrusions that may not be present at the moment.

What are they trying to be, the next Abercrombie and Fitch? What's next, racy JCP catalogs sent out near Christmas? The last time I checked, most people who shop at Abercrombie usually don't shop at JCPenney.

I actually thought it was a back to school commercial until that last bit.

It's probably just a spec ad. I highly doubt that ever broadcast on any station.

Or the "old and crusty crowd" that might be imagining themselves forced/expected to quietly foot the bill(s) (for the next few years) of a deceiving, pregnant teen who thought she was being clever and cool......but has zero resources for dealing with the possible consequences of her actions........

You expect teens to act that way. You don't expect large corporations to publicly egg them on.

Controversial? You should check out some of the real Spanish and Italian ads [rofl] There was a show on advertisements from around the world on TV some time ago, and they didn't stop to the undies [yes]

I know, I spent some time living in ireland and Japan for a bit, and the TV commercials there probably would not have passed the wholesomeness standards that US seems to require for its shows and commercials.

I remember a Japanese popsicle commercial for the entire 30s duration it looked like the girl was giving head, complete with slurpy sounds. Got my attention thats for sure.

I just did some research, and it does indeed appear to be a spec ad--just as I assumed.

That means that it wasn't funded by, endorsed by, nor produced by, JC Penny. It was created by an Ad company for self-promotion/portfolio purposes. Just like that Volkswagon terrorist/car-bomber ad that showed up on the net a couple years ago.

With a difference though, the Volkswagen ad was actually hilarious. This one was just lame.

If so, then I withdraw comments specific to JC penny. It's still an irresponsible commercial. What next? An ad promoting the joys of unprotected sex?

Controversial? What The Hell!? It is a nice ad, at least it is interesting and I don't see why its so controversial. Oh right I forgot the human body is filthy and disgusting, I must scrub myself with bleach back into morality.

Plus if you learn how to act from what you see on commercial you deserve to get hit by a giant billboard.
