Default American Top Gear Hosts Confirmed
Well, seems like the American Top Gear still has the green light. NBC going to be hosting the show, and here are the hosts.

I don't care for Adam, but it seems like he is going to end up being just like Clarkson.

I actually find Adam funny a lot of the times but he can get under my skin. Although, I could never see the American version even beginning to come close to the UK version.

The chemistry between Clarkson, May, and Hammond is priceless and the show is so well established. The only area I can see the shows being comparable is in the production in regards to videography, editing, and overall sequences. That doesn't include the challenges, the caliber of cars they test, etc.

I am somewhat cautiously optimistic though and hope it is at least entertaining.

I would be very pleasantly surprised. I am just saying it would take a lot.

fantastic news -- but how on earth you lot are going to do it on the wrong side of the road I've no idea.
Classic! [thumbup]

I can't see it coming even close to the original... but could be interesting all the same.

I've never heard of or seen any of the three presenters before.

Was kind of hoping when I read the thread title that they would get someone the likes of Ron White to play the Clarkson persona... he'd be a good fit in my book

Avert thine eyes, and bask in his glory.

Top Gear cannot be a success without this man, just look how poor the early episodes were when it was just Richard, Jeremy and that really annoying fat bloke.

Heh... just reviewing the cars he owns would easily fill 10 series... he has the best cars in the world... just an amazing collection!

You know what. I so agree. He is by far my favourite and the most eloquent host of the three.

The first episodes were a pain to watch every time the fat bloke showed up with his sensible car deals and broken dialogue.

May seems to be the kind of guy you love having as a friend.

Anyway, the one thing that Top Gear has going for it is the obvious love and passion May, Clarkson and Hammond have for cars.

Btw. Just found this on wiki

The show will return for Series 11 on June 22, 2008 apparently with a new team member. ??

I was about to post that.

His stint on the Tonight Show should be ending soon and this sounds like a great semiretirement for him.

US Top Gear is small potatoes for Leno. No way.

I'm guessing the whole operating budget wouldn't cover half his current pay right now.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Americans butcher this.

Seriously though, can the US please leave one of the few decent British programs alone.

the australian one is going to suck, we have what appear to be crappy presenters.

so since our presenters suck, everything else will have to be a carbon copy of TGUK to make it "work" and they will try too hard, and it will all be a big mess.

and besides, we dont have many cars that tguk doesnt have either.

i think "our" version is going to be a joke, i cannot fathom how bad the US version will be.

atleast tguk will be there as well.

I'm not going to be so quick to assume it's going to garbage compared to the real thing. I'm a huge fan of Carolla's (listen to his radio show every morning, if you haven't heard it you don't know the real Adam), Tanner Foust can be entertaining plus his show on SPEED is pretty damn good hosted by just himself. The third guy I don't know enough but I do know hes worked with Adam a few times and both happen to be automobile aficionados. Seems like a good enough mixture to keep us laughing and seeing them drive badass cars

Oh, this should help the Euros on here give the show a chance: Carolla hates American cars. I get this impression that all you guys over there think we just jack off to Corvette's and Camaro's in our sleep... not so much the case
