Anyone here into Telescopes...?

Im thinking about getting a telescope, I always wanted one. Anyone here have any knowledge as to which one i should get? Looking to watch the moon and planets. I have about max $600 to spend.

I don't own one, but if I did buy it would be one from Meade.

Check out the one below.

If I get enough money to burn some day I will get the 10" seen here:

Yeah I've been wanting to get a telescope too... I think if you just want to look at the moon and other near objects then a refractor telescope would be best, for clarity and contrast.

If you want to look at other planets too then a reflector would give you the most magnification.

Meade makes good telescopes, and when choosing one, just go for the biggest aperture you can afford.

I had a telescope but i could only get a 5sec shot at the moon because of the rotation of the earth/orbit of the moon[thumbdown]
