Default Philips Ambilight, just a gimick?
We've just purchased a new Philips LCD TV with the Ambilight feature. I must say that first impressions are that it's a bit distracting, although we don't have the TV set up properly yet (it's sitting on the floor). What are other people's opinions on this feature if you've tried it?

I have the Philips amBX for the PC; which is based off the same tech with the ambient lighting, but extras; and I personally am very impressed with it.
While it may take you a while to get used to it, it will be wierd going to a TV without Ambilight after a while

I would have to say gimmick. The one time i got to see one the colours had a delay compared to the screen and the light just constantly distracted me. I could be more sensitive to these things than other people though. I turned off the glowing Sony logo on my bravia because it would distract me!
