Did anyone catch the History Channel two-part special entitled "God's Gold"? I think it was in the "Digging for the Truth" Series. They were looking for 3 items...the Golden Menorah, the Silver Trumpets of Blasting (or Blessing, I forget) and one other item. Anywho...they traced them to where they think their final resting place is and it turned out to be an Orthodox monastery. Apparently, they (History Channel people) had a document signed by the Patriarch to enter the monastery and look, but the monks wouldn't allow them in. Possibly, because if the items were actually there people would go and try and take them by force. There was also speculation mid-show that the items might be in the Vatican vaults...it does make me wonder which, if either, of the places holds them. Nevertheless, was an interesting 2 hours.

I saw a documentary (on youtube) about the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia. The monks produced ancient artifacts that matched various relics from the Jerusalem Temple, such as the altar of incense, the lampstands, High Priest's breast-plate, and the location showed clear physical evidence of a structure that would have corresponded exactly to the Tabernacle. They might have been replicas dating from roughly the same period as the originals of course, with the Kebra Negast being written to give them authenticity.....but from what I've read and seen (admittedly not very much) I'm fairly convinced that many of the Temple relics lie, not in Jerusalem, but the kingdom of Axum. |

Stuart I did not watch this show, although it sounds so interesting. Which monastery was that please, do you remember?
I do not know where God's gold and other things are on earth and artifacts like Noah's Ark etc. But obviously the holy places are in Jerusalem, and the areas where God went when He came on Earth. I have never been to Jerusalem, but I feel that when I go I will have this desire to kneel and kiss all inches of the earth there because our sweet God stepped on that blessed earth. Also I have heard the prophecy (I do not know by whom) that before the Antichrist comes, God will submerge the Holy Mountain, the Panagia's Garden in the sea, so that the Holy things that are there will not be defiled. When the time comes God will show the monks the way through which to leave the Holy Mountain by making all the trees bend in one direction. The same way the trees bent when Panaghia stepped there and the pagan inhabitants followed the trees directing towards her and went there and met her. Now if God will make this for the Holy Mountain, there must be a great deal of Holy things there. |

I believe it was St. Theodosius Monastery in Bethlehem.
"At the end of his travels, Kingsley visits the monastery of Saint Theodosius in the Judean wilderness, where he believes Byzantine patriarch Modestus may have hidden the treasures in the seventh century after carrying them away from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to protect them from Muslim invaders." Also the third item which I couldn't remember was the Table of the Divine Presence. |
