Default Virgin Cable Speed Upgrades
As of today Virgin upgraded my 4mb to 10mb for free, they posted a letter out last week telling me. Is this a nationwide thing and did anyone else get it?

I was upgraded from 10meg to 20meg a few months back for free, might downgrade myself to 10meg though as i don't need 20.

Reboot your cable modem, had to do that when I went from 10mb to 20mb.

still loving my 20mbit.
my connections been a bit crap recently though, looking at the support newsgroup it seems im not the only one...

yesterday my connection was maxing out at around 150KB/s down but as the hours past by it slowly got better.

one day my connection was litterally slower than a 56k modem lol soon fixed itself when i rebooted my modem though

They are apparently trialing this upgrade in Preston, Blackpool and Wigan.

They had been trialing it for about 2 or 3 months but it stopped and reverted back to 4 meg about 2 weeks ago (I'd been one of the "trial-ees"), but this isn't a trial now, this a proper fixed upgrade.

Just tried that, did another speedtest, and now it's slower than last night

you do know theres a download limit at peak times?
if you download more than 3gb between 4pm and 12am you get your connection set to crappy speeds
