How is it that people attack me when I mention spending $100 on dinner or $600 on a cell phone yet you drop $800 on six liters of whisky and it seems as if no one notices the price? Don’t get me wrong, if I drank I would save up for the good stuff too, just I’m surprised almost every post wasn’t some smart remark about how much you spent on the stuff.

The truth is you should spend your resources on whatever you think will bring you the most joy -- whether that be buying a fancy phone or fancy consumables doesn't matter. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people even derive joy from saving and watching their money grow or at least keep up with inflation. You have to figure out what your priorities are (that includes figuring out how much fun money you can spend while also doing what you can to secure your future) and spend accordingly. That's all, folks.

oh and thesh, there's nothing wrong with enjoying fine spirits alone, but you didn't need me to tell you that.

That's just awesome.... I've had a worse moment, trust me! The morning you are to leave your base in SouthKorea (I'm in the Air Force) headed to California, and you wake up sweaty with a mild fever. I had to sit through a 17 hour flight and I was sneezing every 10-15sec, couldn't breath and coughing every 2-3 seconds.
