Default First iPhone reviews
http://video.on.nytimes.com/index.js...3940afb8a3f7c8

Here's a summery:
- "so sleek and thin, it makes Treos and BlackBerrys look obese."
- After walking around with the iPhone unprotected for 2 weeks, no marks on it. Glass smudges are easily wiped off.
- Making calls can be a 6 step process if phone is off.
- Web, Email is superior
- Battery Life Test: 5 hours video, 23 hours audio. Note: did not turn off Wi-Fi and other features as Apple suggests.
- Typing was OK. Difficult at first, but learned to "trust" the keyboard. "The BlackBerry won’t be going away anytime soon."
- Cites AT&T network as iPhone's biggest downfall. Cites Consumer Reports survey which ranks AT&T network as last or second to last in 19 out of 20 major US cities.

Looks just as useless as I thought it'd be. C'mon, non-replaceable battery? Hated it on the iPod, not gonna like it here. No memory expansion? Are they crazy?

I'd much rather have a N95 or a similar caliber phone.

It's like the Ipod, inferiour to most mps players yet priced at being even higher and people buy it because it's Apple. [rolleyes]

The Iphone, inferiour to everything available in the Uk/Europe and Asia, priced even higher, very limited availability of available mobile suppliers and people will still buy it, as it's an Apple.

Steve Jobs could package his own faeces and name them iDump and you'd still get people queuing for days outside Apples stores to buy them.

Come on, lets be serious for a sec. If it is really as bad as you say, only a few would buy it. It's not perfect (and I wouldn't buy one), but it does have it's advantages over other phones out there.

The reality distortion field can only go so far to sell the thing.

Replaceable battery is a must. What if you run out of battery and you'd quickly want to use friend's battery to make a quick call. Oh yes... no one else probably has iPhone.

My concern would be the life of the battery itself..what if it dies/gets crappy?

Meh, the second generation might be a alternative for me if it has better technical features and less restrictions.

My SE K800 is decent for the time being.

Edit
LOL at the OS taking 700MB of storage.

It's so different, that I might consider it. However with the current downfalls (no 3G? I use it everyday and it's fast) I might wait for a second generation. I am getting a phone next summer the earliest so maybe they will have one.

AT&T can suck it

Even if the phone would work in Alaska, I wouldn't touch it at all. Nice idea, but there are alot of things that Apple will learn in the coming years. Might purchase the iPhone Mini when it comes out(if its not tied to AT&T).

No 3G? Then it wont sell at all in Japan. I heard that only 3G phones work in Japan.
