I see personal insults are how you work. You know nothing about Formula One, your comments are ridiculous As to villi would have won the first race dont make absolute statements that only have personal opinion not facts it is something we cannot know. Accept the talent the kid has. Monaco is a true test of talent no matter the car and if already passed that test. Lol i bet if he did win the championship you would still say it was the car. Your opinions show your lack of knowledge of f1. I have been watching for 25 years and i tell ya now this kid is the most exciting talent since senna came on the scene. If he was doing well and a rubbish car people like you would say if he had the car he would be winning and if he has the car he is winning because of it lol. He is driving better than the world champion in the same car for gods sake. Your views are uneducated and lack substance. A quote for you to take on board: "Not doubt, certainty is what drives one insane" |

Why does this always happen? Whenever a new British talent comes on the scene everyone loves them until the first sign of success, and then the moaning starts.
This guy has some very good points in his favour, he's very consistent, and incredibly brave, watching him on Monaco scared the **** out of me. That race was like one huge controlled drifting competition for him. Canada was a very hard track all said and done, and he handled it well, true that you need a good car under you to win, but if he'd had to over take in that brawl someone who have taken him out. For his age, he's very calm when he needs to be and crazy when it suits the situation, now he's leading the championship we'll see how the others react. Maybe we'll have a rookie champion and the Cart guys can laugh at us F1 fans in revenge for Mansell. |

Damaged undertray from being reckless. He did a piss poor job this weekend but every driver has an off day. He had the potential to be just as fast as Hamilton (as shown by his fastest first and second sectors duting quali) but royally screwed up the last turn. It's these little pivotal moments which can change the entire weekend. Whenever Hamilton has pitted after Alonso they make a huge deal out of it talking about what a fantastic qual lap he must of had given he had more fuel. Alonso pitted a few laps after Hamilton this race, and nothing was said. I'll give the benefit of doubt to ITV this time though, alot was going on at the time and Alonso did stuff up his last sector. But the point is, Alonso was a few tenths up on Hamilton's "perfect lap" with more fuel on board until he slipped a foot or so wide onto the marbles at the hairpin. I wonder if BMW Sauber can bridge the gap a little more this season? |

Something that people often forget about F1 is this: if every car was equal and every driver as good as the rest, the grid would still constant of 20-odd places; there would still be someone who comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on. Unless they stack the cars 10 high (a la Parisian parking), there's physically no way that they can get 3 or more cars crossing the line at the same time. Thus whoever comes first, deserves to be so - for whatever reasons (driver error, mechanical failure, nekkid bewbs on the trackside), the others don't and that's all there is to it. Hamilton may well have the best car on the track, along with Alonso, but he didn't stick it in the wall; he didn't charge out of the pits under a red light; he didn't go banana-bouncing across every corner.
Of course, this isn't to justify the near-hysterical reporting of ITV on Lewis - you'd think he was the Second Coming by some of their comments. I can only hope in rains like mad at Silverstone just so they can request Hamilton to walk on water... |

Excellent race (except for Kubica's crash), havent enjoyed a race like that for a long time. Things are looking good for the rest of the season as far as entertainment is concerned.
About Hamilton having a good car...that doesnt really mean anything IMO. When was the last time you saw somebody dominate the F1 championship in a shyte car ? (and dont claim Schumachers benneton was crap) The Championship is only ever won by the top tier teams. If you will only call a driver good until he wins the championship in a minardi-esque team then youll never see a "good" driver. Even Schumacher would never have won so much if he remained in a lower end team. |

Of course, this isn't to justify the near-hysterical reporting of ITV on Lewis - you'd think he was the Second Coming by some of their comments. I can only hope in rains like mad at Silverstone just so they can request Hamilton to walk on water... I have to say in terms of pure speed I still rank Alonso above him but Lewis has been more controlled and consistent. Just like Spain Alonso went for broke into the first corner and got it wrong. He had more fuel and looked like being as fast if not fractionally faster than Lewis. You have to say that in a straight fight Alonso probably would have overtaken him in the first round of pit stops and quite possibly gone on to win. The fact is he didn't. Lewis is a fantastic talent and whilst at the moment I don't think he's quite as fast as Alonso at the moment, he's far more composed and that's why he's quite rightly leading the championship. The points system rewards consistent high results. Is the car a factor? Of course it is, it would be foolish to think otherwise. The McLaren is on fire but at the end of the day the driver drives the car, not the other way round. |

You're almost like a walking, talking, barely breathing caricature [rofl], ![]() The hype is justified, if not a bit extreme. But we have not had such an exciting talent, with actual charisma ( villi had zero charisma, same as shumi and hakkinen ) in such a long time. His real test will be in the rain, this is where Senna shined. You seem to forget he had the safety car out 4 times, and 4 times he pulled away. Not only that but this is his first year and only sixth race. Button did well when he started in yes; a good car. He of did not do so well since, but that is more lack of talent, piss poor reliability and his Eddie Irvine playboy lifestyle and general lack of commitment. The lad has had £40 million spent on training him since he was 14 years old. He has had the perfect education, he IS a supreme talent. I really don't think anyone cares if you want him to have a crap car to prove himself, the comment is irrelevant. Are you going to say if he does the "impossible" and wins the championship he does not deserve it because he had the best car, most likely? Shumi had the best car for 6 out of 7 years, does that make him any less talented, of course not! The only time someone has one a championship in a inferior car was Senna. But it was not as if it was not competitive, just quite a way below in terms of straight line speed and he was of course a total genius. Oh and btw, I am going to hazard a guess you posted about me again on SYB right? [rofl] |

Show me where I basically said it was all the car, I have never written that, which renders your entire little hissy fit worthless. What a waste of bandwidth [rofl] |

Here’s what triggered 38 pages of aaaaaaaaaabsolute drivel from you:
Hamilton seems like an unrelenting robot on the track (COMPLIMENT) and he's my age too which only compounds my misery further (JOKE). I think he should be forced to drive the worst car on the grid (Honda?) (BECAUSE HE IS TOO GOOD IN COMBINATION WITH THE MCLAREN) I don’t think I should be forced to write the things in brackets because a sensible person would not deduce from this that my comments are ridiculous and I have zero knowledge of F1. Do you realise how trivial this entire thing is? [rofl] |
