Ah, you've got to love music stereotypes. Most idiotic stereotypes ever created. Ever. [rolleyes]

If I went with stereotypes, I'd think that everyone who listened to death metal or anything "loud" were people to avoid. Thank goodness I don't do that, or I'd miss out on knowing some really cool people.

I don't think I've ever heard an Ace of Base song. I've heard of the name though. What style is it? (Homosexual is not a style, btw.)

i was commenting on maroon 5's inherent crapness it wasn't a personal comment. I am sure you are a shining example of heterosexuality in the old fashioned style.

NIN was ok,while they were 'heavily mimicking" better bands or when Trent just plain outright stole music...I still listen to some NIN songs every now and then...but NIN is just a "balls-less" ripoff of bands like Skinny Puppy,Frontline Assembly and other Industrial Rock bands...cleaned up for mass appeal.

Something can be good without being original.

Skinny Puppy sucks.

Hmm sorry but that is elitist and so very wrong... nin's music seams perfectly with reznors superb poetry, he can be blunt and incisive but also paint amazing landscapes of word that seam with the soundscapes created by his backing musicians. Similar sounds maybe but idiosyncratically nin and reznor.

And give trent some props for trying to take decent and meaningful music into the mainstream.

NIN isn't that something, and now I know for absolute there's no point in talking to you except for a laugh every now and then.

Trent even admitted to the song "Down in it" being a slightly modified version of Skinny Puppy's "Dig it","Suck" was a song that was done with the band Pigface that Trent just threw on a cd and claimed as his own,he was sued over the song "Burn" because he stole that from somebody and I know there at least a few more instances I'm not remembering....he's stopped doing that so much since "The Fragile" and listen to how bad that and everything after it sucks.

Like I said I still go back every now and then, but the stuff he copied from was so much better.

Roxette? [rofl] [rofl]

but NIN is just a "balls-less" ripoff of bands like Skinny Puppy Key would later tell the press that their creativity at the time was also badly affected by the company's pressure on them to create music that was similar to and as commercially acceptable as that of contemporaries like Nine Inch Nails. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinny_Puppy

well those three songs you mention are hardly a big part of nin's sound and work. I remember what you talk about and perhaps mr reznor was trying to pay a backhanded compliment in an unconventional way.
Reznor has the skill and talent to create music that is both deep and also accesible enough to achieve a certain degree of mainstream sucess. Seriously the 'sellout' attitude if like so 1991

Too bad you still haven't figured out not to take message-boards so seriously. Do you cry yourself to sleep at night repeating, "If they only knew! Trent stole! Trent STOLE! IF THEY ONLY KNEW!!!!!!1"

I bet you even say the one out loud at the end.

Well just reads that article and skinny puppy = pseudo political posers, reznor = insightful poet and chronicler of deep human feeling, emotion and action, who has the guts to take his music to the forefront.

If you read, that's when the band died..so it's not like they ever did cave in that much...self destructed before that cpuld happen. And yes it is ironic that they were pressures to be like the mianstream version of themselves.

Also I'm not saying they're the best (I've moved on to older stuff),but that type of music is the basis of what M. Manson and T. Reznor both dumbed down, popularized and eventually helped kill.
