Where is everyone???
Bad luck for Lewis, great luck for Alonso. Webber drove a great race, given the strategy... worst Red Bull strategy yet! ![]() Grosjean told to pull over and follow the lucky Kimi. He was no where near Grosjean and not faster, the only reason he got behind Grosjean was the safety car came out and MS decided to clear a path ![]() Webber championship hunt is surely over now (seems his Kers has not worked in a race properly since Silverstone?), but is the Red Bull quick enough for Vettel to pull back the margin to Alonso? Hamilton will have something to say about that, but Alonso has the issue that both the Red Bull and McLarens (and Williams?) are faster and he may struggle to reach the podium in every race until the end. Kimi's championship is surely over now, he just hasn't got the pace to track down Hamilton or Vettel to take a win this year. Maldonado was very well behaved, and would have given the podium a good shake if the car hadn't developed a problem. |

It all comes to the car, but the fact remains that he is above Hamilton in the championship table again Vettel's got a good chance though, especially if Webber starts to play a supporting role. But then if Red Bull and Mclaren are taking points off each other till the end of the season, that again plays into Ferrari's hands. If Alonso has another DNF though, things will get interesting! |

Didnt get much enjoyment out of this race. In fact i dont think i ever have since it was put on the calendar.
Its nice, from a marketing and promotional standpoint for F1 but theres just something about it that isnt very F1. The whole thing about famous singers performing during the F1 weekend, the club life and city art deco...it all seems so forced like they want it to be the next Monaco. Love seeing the cars race at night, but they got to work on maybe the track surface and layout some more now, rather than spending huge amounts of money for publicity stunts i think. That was okay in the begining, but they need to make this a more serious F1 event. --- Post Update --- Another thing i want to add, Mercedes GP really need to pull up their socks. The strategy calls again were just horrible...what was the point of not qualifying ? They went straight to super softs anyway and didnt get any advantage from the "fresher" tires. Schumacher plows into the back of somebody, Rosberg drove a tidy race but he's just got no fighting spirit i cant ever see him winning the championship unless he has a car thats head and shoulders better than the rest. Not one area has been good for Mercedes which is shocking considering the amount of money they are throwing around, they have to improve and fast if they dont want to be the next Toyota or Honda F1. Pit stops ? Poor, strategy calls ? Piss Poor, Driver performances Poor, Car performance ? Poor. For their sake, i really hope the Hamilton rumors are true. |
