No map service will ever be perfect. Google maps has a lot of inaccurate address listings for businesses in my city. I've lost count of how many times I've arrived at a store's location listed on Google Maps only to discover it closed months ago. |

I'm glad Google will finally have some competition. In a few years, I'm sure Apple will have a lot to offer with their Maps.app. With all this negative press about iOS Maps, I wouldn't be surprised if even Bing Maps is a better service atm. Sucks for apple users. Such a vital service taking a step backwards is a poor decision. |

I'm sure that it will be fixed in time but it's a maps application after all and it's not like it's just going to take them a few weeks. Things like thinking an area with airfield in the title is actually an airport are also easy fixes. Depending on their Content Delivery Network (CDN), it might actually take longer to roll out the changes globally than to put them in place. |

Presuming it's just a stored co-ordinate issue then each instance can be fixed within an hour of it being reported. |

I was also talking about the many areas where the photos are of low quality or have cloud cover, it's not going to get done in a jiffy. |

Ah, well to be fair there are loads of areas on Google maps still that have those problems. It's getting better but I guess they can only afford to buy satellite imagery so often and if you live in a naturally cloudy area it could be a problem for years. Anyway, no point arguing about this, we can start counting the days... |

On that note.....
![]() Apple is redefining what it means to have a cloud based map service. |
