Saw Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX yesterday
 

Man, the movie looks really good all cleaned up now. I'm surprised how well the effects hold up - the face melting scene was way better than I remembered it looking on DVD!

Of course, the movie no longer holds much surprise to me having seen it many dozens of times, but the scene where Indiana Jones climbs out of the sea and onto the sub, with the rousing theme song still brings a big silly grin to me face :D ...along with many other awesome moments.

Well worth it! Did anyone else here seize this opportunity to see Indy on the big screen?

I should hope so considering DVD is just a SD TV image.

Not really about whether it's SD, HD, or IMAX, really - I mentioned DVD because that was my reference point on the small screen. I just expected the face melting scene to look horribly dated on the big screen but it didn't - that's what surprised me.
