Default Peru extended
After an ordealing 15 push within the Andes we found its way to the selva alta( large rainforest). We remained in the city of Oxapampa. It's a distant area surrounded by cloud forest hills. It lies at 1800 yards = 6,000 feet elevation. You can observe the city in the exact distance. The city was actually settled by Germans in the late 1890's. I ran across several blue-eyed, blonde haired citizens within my stay. With it's church as in many villages the middle is the Plaza p Armas. This is actually the church IGLESIA SANTA ROSA We remained at a hotel at the side of city, across from the airport. As you can observe it's a surrounded by a weedy region. I did so perhaps not see the entire time to a single aircraft there. I felt really comfortable travelling town on my own and liked visiting the marketplace with it's outside flower sellers and Interior fruit, meat ,and vegetable stalls.. Listed here is still another image of Oxapampa. Many homes were atypical of Peru and seemed more German in construction. All the area has been removed for the neighborhood slopes and farms in addition to the city. Places continue to be being slashed and burned for facilities. Our days were spent walking and our nights were spent in the neighborhood neighborhood center sharing a beer with the residents and playing Sapo.. In this sport "gold" coins are thrown about 20 feet onto the Sapo dining table and different openings are worth different quantity of factors. Later in the week I'll publish photos from the marketplace walks.
