http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7594633.stm Exactly what a shame to the standard. The VERY FIRST believe you do when picking right on up a tool is its packed to check. Heck, you shouldn't also take a weapon from somone otherwise without first having THEM pull out the working areas and show you that its not packed, so you know their state of the weapon when its passed to you. To place it at still another soldier, pick up a gun without examining and pull the trigger merely beggars belief. A rifle should never be never pointed by you at some one in jest under any conditions, aside from the state of the gun. The snipers who left the gun in the area packed and alone (or in the hands of some one perhaps not qualifed to take care of it) were to have now been fined, but the general fault needs to rest with the fool who picked it up and ND'd it. I will only think that he slept through basic education or anything. Its a bolt action sniper rifle has been shot that rifle myself - by me. Whether it's a on it or not, the very first thing to complete (after when there is one attached) removing the magazine must be to c0ck (foolish vow filtration) the tool ejecting any round that could be in the step. Their perhaps not rocket science.
