The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed rookie running back Jaylen Samuels to a four-year contract.
The team announced the deal Wednesday Jonathan Ogden Jersey , less than two weeks after the AFC North champions selected Samuels in the fifth round. Samuels is the first of Pittsburgh's seven 2018 draft picks to sign. Samuels did a little bit of everything during his career at North Carolina State. He set a school record with 202 receptions and is second on the school's all-time list with 47 touchdowns. Samuels filled a variety of roles for the Wolfpack, working out of the backfield as a running back and occasionally lining up at tight end and wide receiver. The Steelers will welcome rookie and first-year players during a minicamp this weekend. The Cleveland Browns may be looking at signing former Pro Bowl free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.John Dorsey said the #Browns have discussed bringing in Dez Bryant— Mary Kay Cabot (@MaryKayCabot) July 25, 2018The Dallas Cowboys released Bryant in April, and he's surprisingly yet to find a new home. The 29-year-old (3o in November) Vic Beasley Jersey , is a three-time Pro Bowler and has the potential to change the dynamic of any offense he's involved in.Signing Bryant would make plenty of sense for the Browns, who will have Josh Gordon back for all of 2018, plus the addition of Pro Bowl wideout Jarvis Landry. In bringing Bryant, the Browns would employ three star wideouts that could make life a lot easier for veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor, or first overall pick Baker Mayfield.Though Bryant's recent injury history Linval Joseph Jersey , age and declining production may scare a few teams away, he has the tools to be a productive pass-catcher for several more years. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Bryant uses his big size and athleticism to jump up for the long balls, and he's a tough cover for the smaller cornerbacks.Bryant registered three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons every year from 2012-2014. In the latter year Robert Thomas Jersey , he led the NFL in touchdown receptions with 16. Had it not been for a controversial catch ruling in the 2014 NFC Divisional Round, Bryant would have likely sent the Cowboys to the NFC Championship Game. At this point, Bryant would surely accept a cheap one-year deal from the Browns, who are coming off a frustrating 0-16 season. The Browns may as well take a chance on Bryant, who would be an excellent option in the red zone.Otherwise Rashaan Melvin Jersey , the duo of Landry and Gordon will do just fine.
