Default Not All Clicks Count?
I've been using Adsense for a couple months now, and I'm decently happy with the results, but according to StatCounter's Exit Link Activity, it looks like only a fraction of the clicks on my ads count. Anybody have any idea why this might be happening?

For reference, I'm using Tumblr as a platform for my site, and I know there are some problems with Tumblr users intentionally clicking one another's ads - could that have anything to do with it? Similarly, if anyone has experience monetizing a Tumblr blog and prefers an ad network other than Adsene, lemme know!

I think not all clicks are genuin and legit. You should read more on that with Adsense rules.

There are several factors as far as i know: It depends how long the person stays on the page he clicked at and there are other factors. Additionally like others said: Not everyone is a real person. But i feel your pain i hate it to log in to StatCounter and see some exit links and then log into adsense and see less clicks

There is actually no accurate way to count how many visitors clicked on your Adsense ads outside of the statistics provided by Google.

If you have a stat tool that is attempting to predict how many times an ad has been clicked odds are it is merely a mathematical algorithm based on your traffic and not actually tracking ad clicks. So whatever the stats SUGGEST take it with a grain of salt.
It includes a timestamp, the IP address of the person clicking the link, and which ad they clicked, so I'm fairly certain that exit links can be tracked...

SchenkerF - the amount of time they stay seems like the most logical explanation. Probably people accidentally clicking and hitting back or close quickly. Thanks!
