Everyone on MIMF...

Hey gals and guys,

Our braddah teddles is in "the dumps" - Lets all keep him in our hearts and thoughts as he mightily struggles with his self-improvement program. As we have expressed our concern for Steve, lets try it for teddles...Ok everyone?

Hi, Teddy; If there is anything I can do to help you feel better, just ask. Hope you're coming around somewhat.

darieBarexish 07-13-2012 08:04 AM

Hey Duckmeister ...

I congratulate you on making a choice about health issues ... the rewards will be worth all the effort. I too need to embark on such a journey - I am obese ... yup ... fat, spelled P-H-A-T-T ... I need to lose at least 80 pounds and it's tough ... very tough, but you can ... and will ... prevail and come out the victor in this quest.

You can do it ... we are all rooting for ya ... we are all here for you and want to help. Call us your support group. http://www.magle.dk/music-forums/ima...lies/smile.png

Thanks CD, Steve and Lars. Fatness is usually a self inflicted wound and now I am paying the price of healing that wound. I have now lost a total of three and a half stone, about forty eight pounds and want to lose another stone to bring me down to fourteen stone, a realistic weight for my height and age. Lars I am still classed as obese ( I am 5'11) and it sounds as if you have an even bigger job on than me, but my blood sugar is now regularly below 5. so it will definitely benefit you in the same way and almost definitely improve your overall health. Thanks again for your encouragement. It helps.

http://www.magle.dk/music-forums/ima...ies/tiphat.gif You're welcome teddy ... controlling blood sugars are paramount for me as when they too high it throws everything else off balance, at least for me. When I can keep those in the 110 to 135 range I do much better. Eating right is the ticket ... As a diabetic I have to eat in moderation and really watch the carbs.

I too have some mobility issues ... my left knee is problematic. I sustained an injury in my lower right leg 11 years ago, and endured three operations over a year ... so I favored the right and overworked my left leg to compensate for the injury - this is the only part of 'aging' that I really hate. http://www.magle.dk/music-forums/images/smilies/lol.gif

Great to hear about the weight loss ... that is a significant amount. You've accomplished lots so far, and now so close to your goal http://www.magle.dk/music-forums/ima...ilies/clap.gifhttp://www.magle.dk/music-forums/ima...ilies/clap.gif

Around 5'11" and 220 lbs.

allvideO 07-14-2012 10:58 AM

@ CD, We're just about the same height and weight, except that I have developed a spare tire!

DextExexy 07-14-2012 10:59 AM

@ Teddy, Congrats and keep up the good work; I'm sure that you will get there before too long!

So far I am avoiding looking like the "Michelin Man" http://www.magle.dk/music-forums/images/smilies/lol.gif

Thank you all. Lars, it is a bugger when you cannot exercise the weight off, particularly if like me you like your food. CD I am 5'11 and 212 but I tend to carry my weight around my middle so I do look a bit like the Michelin Man.

Methinks that certain body types e.g. Endomorphic, Ectomorphic, and Mesomorphic will play a role as to how one looks when overweight.

mpxricyNimb 07-15-2012 11:23 PM

Well done Teddy, you must be working very hard for your goals. We are all here to support you, or tell a few jokes to help you laugh the weight off.

mikajuise 07-16-2012 04:17 AM

Well Margaret, I have been a bit naughty this weekend. And I have eaten too much as well, but you know what us teddies are like. Back to the diet on Monday

6'0'' and 240 lbs.
(Alas, that's 240 lbs. unclothed.) That makes my BMI (Body Mass Index) an unfortunate 32.5, which puts me in the "obese" range.

I need to do better on the diet/food intake front-- but I've successfully geared up the physical activity portion of the campaign with some nice mid-distance bicycle jaunts. I've exceeded "metric century" (100 km spin) distance six times since mid-May. I hope to do a full century [i.e.: 100 miles in a day] before the end of summer.

Nidsstese 07-16-2012 03:19 PM

Well done. The cycling is good for the spirit as well as the body. The main thing is to cut down the quantity you eat, as well as improving the quality. Good for you
