Default CA ceases disability payments
Why should they be getting tax refunds if their government is bankrupt?

Sounds like negotiating tactics to me.
Who, CA or JM?

Well hell yes. Arnie is already on record for California being fiscally irresponsible.

I guess it depends on how disabled or blind they are.

I'd say there's a moral difference between someone living on disability with "a bum knee" and someone on disability with Muscular Dystrophy, for example. I don't think the second one(at least one in the advance stages) is going to be very useful out there on a highway crew.
I agree and have no quams about helping those people, but the people who can work but choose food stamps and other aid because they are baby factories or the parents are dopers or alcoholics or no count, those aree the ones that irk me, the ones who can hang out all day on the block, watch oprah or other ways to waste monies.

I...don't think welfare kiddies are the people they have in mind when they say "with disability"?
So you dont think people "claim" disability but chose to sit back and collect instead of trying to do something?

Im disabled X 2, spine surgery and total wrist fusion.

But, have adapted, still hurts, still impacts my life and have some bad days Lonestar, but choose to work instead od sitting back.

Thats what i am referring to.

i know former employees who "allegedly" got hurt at work, Medically got qualified, retired but then can go out and ride dirt bikes all over, swim, ride horseback, go dancing, drinking in bars but yet they pickup disability checks.

Thats what i am referring to Lonestar, the abusers

Good job, Frosty. Don't take anything from anyone unless it's dire circumstances.

Bullshit. I've put up with much, as have others, but I'm not putting up with this crap.

One of my best friends from high school has been milking disability for years longer than his actual disability.

This summer, I learned, for the first time in many years he actually got a job somewhere (McDonalds). He overslept his second day on the job and never went back.

You suspect CA is playing hardball with the Feds for financial aid?
I don't even know the details, but it's an old tactic, especially in California, to pick out the most outrageous thing that could happen and say that it will happen if your opponent or your patron doesn't give you lots of money.

It's the way that NPR does business, for instance. Also, North Korea. It's amazing that supposedly well-educated, sophisticated people fall for this tactic so often.

Seems to me that other cuts could & should be made before the state ceases paying disability.

Like what? (I have no idea what's in CA's budget.)

Speaking as someone who has very little idea about Californian law, but don't they have a specific law about how they need a greater than majority vote to reduce the money they spend on initiatives and such, which is what seems to an outsider to be costing them money which could otherwise be used to finance disability and education etc?

Obviously they cut disability before welfare because disabled people won't riot in the streets.

Disgusting.

Rather then cutting programs, Arnie cuts off disability altogether then removing his precious pork?

Thats what i am referring to Lonestar, the abusers I'm the same way. I could ask for disability that would pay my way. No thanks. Work is much better and you can actually get ahead!

That being said, there are many who are not abusing disability benefits who will be hurt by these cuts. They should cut welfare first before disability.

NPR hasn't tried that since they inherited the McDonalds fortune. As for North Korea, I agree it's a stunt that they've pulled, but it's amazingly effective, as South Korea doesn't want the North to go under leaving them to pick up the pieces(reconstruction).

California has again rediscovered the downside of an highly progressive tax structure. They heavily loaded thier taxes onto the highest income brackets and onto capital gains, both of which dried up real fast in a rescession.
Yeah I'm sure the top 1% are suffering much more than the rest of the country.

Yeah, he's basically saying that their tax structure has more volatile income, which is a legitimate criticism.

A pal-O-mines ex gf's sister convinced Cali that she was nuts and so they've been sending her $2000 a month for decades which has made her very rich on the beach in Brazil, the crazy *****.
