How industrious is the average posters (hours worked per week)

Does posting on poly or other internet forums while at work count?

Dominick Yo 07-07-2012 03:35 AM

Last time I checked, around 60. I've gotten busier since then.

twinaircant 07-07-2012 03:45 AM

I struggle to maintain my hourly wage above 100 dollars an hour. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

soonahonsefalh 07-07-2012 04:03 AM

Yeah flash, you think no one here works part-time?

Kilaoksrsa 07-07-2012 04:25 AM

I've got two kids. Any further questions?

When I worked part time, I worked 30+ hours usually.
32 and above is full-time by every definition I've seen in the workplace.

Lyikmcmb 07-07-2012 04:40 PM

65 average plus laptop work issues in evening maybe 4-6 hours a week

gZAhTyWY 07-07-2012 05:16 PM

We're not buying it, Zoe. You don't work 71 hours a week.

Or doesn't work at all...

How come there's nothing less than 30?
Exactly. I average about 21 hours per week. Might be doing a bit extra in the next few weeks...

Goalseexere 07-08-2012 05:44 AM

I don't think anyone really cares what you'll accept, just saying.

duribass 07-08-2012 06:58 AM

It is dick-waving. Hours mean nothing. The worst people I've worked with were all obsessed with how many hours they put in. Wish they were more obsessed with doing a better job.

JohnImamadviser 07-08-2012 07:17 AM

40 hours. It's the max governmental limit (well you could work more and get comp time, up to 24 hours of it, but unless you need more leave for a vacation, why?)

nancywind 07-08-2012 08:02 AM

Even the service restricts your time on duty. After a relatively short period, at least in terms of this poll, efficiency and safety drop markedly. You're simply not getting done what a fresh person would be accomplishing, and you're putting yourself and others at risk. It's not worth it to anyone's interests.

I don't :-D I normally do somewhere between 30 and 40 but that can go up considerably at peak project times.

ebonytipchik 07-08-2012 11:45 AM

Equally though, if someone wants to work silly sauce hours, it's their choice.

Well I'm self employed so I don't get those anyway, per se.

If you work less than thirty you either can't get a better job or you're a lazy ****er.
Or my job is paid so well that I don't need to work more hours and that I value my free time far more than simply working. You don't want to know about my holidays or how long it takes me to get to work...http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

megatrendsZ 07-09-2012 11:29 AM

Working over 40 hours is wasteful and inefficient.

On average 60. When someone sells a project without checking first to see if we have capacity in my group it can shoot up to 80 http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif
I think you must work for my company.
