Why do the non involved run towards the sound of gun fire? Seems like a good way to catch a bullet.

As it turned out, it was a drug house and the guy wasn't shot in the back. Witnesses from the neighborhood stepped forward.
So one person, saying 1 incorrect thing, and a mother is devastated, a section of the city is irate and the New Black Panther Party makes their appearance in protests.
Interestingly, it wasn't the neighborhood that was involved in the bulk of the unrest, it was outsiders.
