Default Krazyhorse and other people with physics background please answer my question
Eventually the sun will run out of fuel and die. You might want to work on that.

Is 100% renewable energy possible or will civilization go Mad Max when we begin running out of oil and I should sell all my properties and buy guns and farmland next to a river with an electric dam in order to survive in the post apocaliptic society?

So this is basically about investments
Newton says that 100% renewable energy is not possible. But who knows what has changed since then?

Just ask Ben, he'll give you a good science-related answer. Best part is that the same answer applies to any question.

("Jesus Did it.")

Yeah, gold and silver is really for that time in between loss of faith in fiat currency and total anarchy. About 3-6 months.

100% renewable energy isn't possible because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. That said, the timescale for us running out of energy is in the billions of years.

I think he did understand. Which is why he said the timescale is billions of years (i.e. the sun expires and we have no more renewable energy from the sun, and the recycling becomes a problem because of the 2nd law). It's a nerdy answer.

That or he did actually misunderstand.

If we filled a volcano with sand and afterwards it erupted, what would be the result?
Would it explode downwards, and what would be the result; or would it still blow up and what would be the result? If it explodes up, would it heat the sand to shards of glass raining down?
See nuée ardente.
