...there is a word for this type of attitude and I can't remember what it is. Any ideas?

Disguise it with as much word play as you will. It is nothing but the extension of a closed mind. For a truly closed mind breeds nothing but contempt, bigotry and irrational egocentric convictions. The consequences of which are much broader and damaging than just the unwillingness to evaluate.
