Default If there's a better spice than cumin I'd like to know about it!
One of my favorite Chinese dishes is cumin lamb. I usually order it with spicy carp, fried rice, and egg drop soup. Throw in a few soup dumplings and you have yourself a pretty good meal for two.

Cinnamon. It's value in savory dishes is hugely underrated.

Sounds like it! I wish there were good Chinese restaurants within a reasonable distance though

Salt
hate it

It's unbelievable how, when you give up salt your salt sense improves to before unheard of levels. Since I threw the devil by the wayside I've developed an almost extrasensory sense of salt recognition. And it ain't pretty, I tell ya!

Keeping a well stocked spice pantry with a wide variety of spices is a must.

Cumin is my favorite.
Well, goddamn, I didn't expect this much agreement. I feel so unspecial right now.

How has nobody mentioned chili yet? Without cumin it's just pasta sauce.
Very true.
