Wisconsin Democrats fail to take state Senate
And the Republicans control the redistricting there, so they can continue to punish the dems.
Unfortunately the Dems are in control of redistricting in Illinois and have really punished the Repugs here. |
It seems voter suppression really does work.
|
Not at all. If there isn't evidence of wide spread voter suppression, as we've seen during this special election, then no one would make the claim but when there has been wide spread voter suppression efforts, as in this case, then it's reasonable to talk about it.

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif Unbelievable sore losers...
The turnout was near that of the midterms. Give me a break. |

Democrats have their own dirty tricks but voter suppression isn't one of them, mainly because higher voter turn out is almost ALWAYS favorable for a Democratic candidate, so it's retarded to say I don't accuses Democrats of something they are highly unlikely to ever do (simply for partisan reasons if nothing else).

I'm sure most of his posts must be trolls.

Yes. That's why he spent the whole movie talking about global warming. He must be a sore loser if he's trying to do something else with his life.
|
It's the very first thing he talks about, actually. "I used to be the next president of the United States". He then snipes at the Bush administration about a dozen times throughout the movie, for things ranging from the Secretary of Education to random people in the White House staff.
|
Well he goes off on rants about tobacco and other irrelevant miscellany, so I think the movie really is all about Al Gore. Not whatever policy he's peddling.

Now we know he's trolling.

Anyway back to the topic of this thread: For people who don't know this was not a normal election but a recall election where a few politicians who got elected in 2010 so pissed off their constituents that hundreds of thousands signed petitions demanding they be immediately removed from office, thus the special recall election to see if that should happen and if the guy/gal is removed then who should take his place. It not surprising that most incumbents won (I.E. they were not recalled) most of the time but enough lost in the lower house that Republicans went from the majority to the minority while the state Senate had 6 senators facing recall (all Republicans); 3 kepts themselves in office (I.E. they were not recalled), two were removed from office and replaced by Democratic challengers, and one race is still being contested. That final contest will decide which party controls the state senate.
|
I may be mistaken but don't the petitions have to be signed by constituents? So the recall elections were in fact requested by constituents?

and common sense.
|
You really think the Wisconsin situation is an exercise in common sense?
|
I can objectively say both sides were ****ing morons and provided their electorate a glorious disservice.
