What am I to call this time? Or, is there need for any description at all? We had been amazed by testimonies of seeing Our Lord, walking about. Tired from hiding and scurrying about, we were now shot through and through by the light of the resurrected Son of God. Our movement is as in a daze waiting for the Promise of the Father.
We cried out to God, "lift up Thy countenance, and let thy light shine upon us, and give us peace." And we were filled beyond our wildest expectations. We were elated. No; we were ecstatic, our joy bubbling over with words unimaginable. Now borne within us, reminding us, teaching us all Our Lord and Master had said. O how we rejoiced, for we knew now how alive He is, who had promised this our joy once he was at the Father's right hand. We were the same people, but we were not the same! Not able to contain ourselves, we no longer huddled infear but proclaimed oudly the praises of our God and King, Jesus Christ. Servants of the Prefect, dyers of cloth, fishermen, housewives, carpenters, perfumers, soldiers, teachers. From all stations of life we had gathered to remember, to comfort one-another. And now; to those same places we were purposed to return, comforted in our affliction, empowered in our weakness, trusted not only with our vocations, but with God's Word as Ambassadors! The prophers had spoken in shadows of what they did not know, or understand. The Rabbi had taught laws they themselves did not keep. But this was a new day! There were no more shadows, no more legalists, for the truth was alive, and had been made free to all. And we could not keep silent! the sinful and unworthy servant subdeacon Moses Your breath's vapor encircles my heart pulsing bestowing the life which Thou art Not borne away by circumstance or heat animating both my heart and my feet O Spirit I pray Thee stay close by and showing mercy look kindly upon my cry For what sustenance have i but thee to whom I bend my heart and knee O Breath of Heaven how can I implore thine aid how canst Thou be moved by that which thou hast made Let the train of Thy glory O God fill my heart and lung completing in me that work which thou hast begun J. 09/18/09 -07/06/11 I did not know where to post this, so I put it here. If it should be somewhere else, please put it there! |
