Granted they are all dirt bags. But compare and contrast their end fates:

Ted Kennedy
Bill Clinton
Chris Dodd
Barney Frank
Maxine Waters
Charles Rangel
Anthony Weiner
Patrick Kennedy
John Murtha
William J. Jefferson
Eric Massa - resigned

John Ensign - resigned
Tom Delay - resigned
Mark Foley - resigned
Duke Cunningham - resigned
Trent Lott - resigned
Christopher Lee - resigned

I'm not entirely sure why a Congressman needs to resign over a picture sent over Twitter to a woman of his underwear clad penis, but you know.. Only an issue if she is under legal age and the picture are more provactive then the underwear clad pics (which seems to be the case in latest reportings). However, to date no such messages to minors are being claimed.

OTOH wifey probably isn't too pleased.

In a Democratic Republic, the people get to decide what they want their representatives to stand for . I suspect that the Republican resignations have more to do with an understanding that their re-election campaigns are severly damaged because their constitutents want more than simply someone who represents their interests.

Or, as in the case of Lott, they say vaguely racist things.

Again because there is a minimum expectation of conduct of the representative by the constituency. I can't help it that people that vote Democratic by and large don't care if they have a person of integrity representing them. Better that they were 'smart' and connected than be expected to stand on principles.

Or, as in the case of Lott, they say vaguely racist things. Lott resigned for conflict of interest and lobbying law changes. He stepped down from leadership role for vaguely racist things. His lobbying resignation is more apprapo in comparison to Rangel and Waters fate.

Different sort of integrity. Such as not being homophobic or racist, which isn't a minimum expectation of conduct for the Republican side.
Not buying it. By your own admission you gave Lotts fall from power as a reaction to vaguely racist commentary.

Were that the case, Harry "Obama is light skinned and doesn't speak with a Negro dialect" Reid, and Joe "Racist comments are legion" Biden would be political pariahs.

Nope at least in the short run. But the point is he knows he can't run. It wasn't an expectation that he yield his power (as defaulted to by his party leadership and cohorts) and hopefully let the controversy blow over. Hoping things would blow over was his default position until the criminal charges were levied. Who knows, given enough time he may dip his toes in the water again.

Stranger things have happened inthe world of democratic politics, its not as if Marion Barry and Alcee Hastings were prevented from reclaiming public office by way of criminal prosecution.

WRT to both Biden and Reid, the pattern has been long established with racist comments and "on the plantation" thinking. To write it off as a "one off" moment is ludicrous.

Yeah, but it's fun to be smug and feel superior to people who don't share your political views.

Two can cherry pick that data.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (affair and love child, did not resign)
Story broken after he left office. Nice try

Vito Fossella (affair and love child, did not resign) Forgot the DUI as well. Pulled himself from the 2008 race. Nice try.

Larry Craig (lewd conduct, did not resign) Agreeed. Served remainder of term after he indicated he would resign. Add this one to the list.

Don Sherwood (affair and abuse, did not resign) Story broke after he lost election in 2006. AP story Nov. 3, 2006. Nice try.

Steven Latourette (affair, did not resign) Who what? no story is observable in a two page look via Google.

Henry Hyde (affair, did not resign)
1967 afffair admitted to in 1998. Are you really intending this as an example?

Dan Burton (affair and love child, did not resign) Agreed. Add him to the list. His affair was chronicled in Vanity Fair 1998.

Helen Chenoweth-Hage (slept with a married man, did not resign) So? Well prior to office. Like the 1967 affair previously noted you really want to go there?
Ken Calvert (solicited oral sex from a prostitute, did not resign) Put him on the list as his infedility was chronicled while in office. Further he was a chronic CREW member.

Clarence Thomas (sexual misconduct, did not withdraw) Alleged. Whether one believes or doesn't the Anita Hill testimony was unconfirmable.

Don Crane (underage sex with pages, did not resign) Dan Crane. Reported in 1983. Was Censured by leadership. Lost upcoming election.

Compare-contrast to Gerry Studds. Reported at the same time similar underage page sex scandal (albeit same sex but who cares). Censured, re-elected until 1997.

Jon Hinson (exposing himself to a police officer, did not resign) Yes he did resign. April 13, 1981.

Robert Bauman (soliciting sex from an underage prostitute, did not resign) Story broke on October. He checked himself into an alcholics clinic and immediately lost the election of November. I think this amounts to resignation.

John Schmitz (affair and love child, did not resign) A reprehensible human being worthy of inclusion on the list considering the party did not cause him to resign.

You post dog **** like this:

Of course he will. There is no minimum expectation of conduct for that side of the aisle.
But I'm supposed to be the one that's wrong? You've been proven completely wrong yet you're still clinging to your partisan lie. Yes, Ogie, even if you don't like it what really gets people pissed off and what sells papers is hypocrisy. If the guy claims to be holier then everyone else, preaches about how deeply he cares about religion, tries to pass laws ban homosexual conduct or discriminating against gays, then is discovered to be a secret peter puffer... Well, there is a boat load of hypocrisy there and that's why the media goes after it like a pitbull on a steak. If the guy doesn't try to claim he's mister family values and then he cheats on his wife... Well, that dog will have a much harder time hunting because he never held himself up to Mr Perfect or made any claims about his sexual conduct being pure. Without hypocrisy there just isn't much there there.

I don't honestly know why anyone cares...he's a backbencher congressman from a hardcore liberal district who lacks discretion and intelligence. I'm pretty sure two or three adjectives were redundant in that sentence.

Adjective is the wrong word, descriptor is what I should have said. I also posted that at 12:18 AM, so please don't pick apart my language.

When **** likes this happens in Canada (like a relatively recent nude pic of a Judge), we don't pass judgment on the person...we pass judgment on the person who leaked the pic.

Partisan but full of facts which dullards like Ogie should familiarize themselves with before he makes more retarded statements.
