Explain Your Avatar

Christmas Avatar that I have been too lazy to take down.

I put it up because, well... its poly tradition to put up custom made christmas avatars.

Next...

I laughed when I saw it and thought of Poly.

Mine is a protest of mechanized pig farms that are responsible for rising rates of obesity throughout the world.

My cannon is the badge of my football team, The Arsenal, nicknamed The Gunners, who were originally munitions workers in Woolwich in what is now SE London (then NW Kent) when the club was formed in 1886.

As artillery pieces are somewhat apt for a Civ site it seemed appropriate.

Gudronich 05-25-2011 03:28 AM

It's really self-explanatory.

sueplydup 05-25-2011 04:35 AM

I chose mine because Ben F. is a cool cat.

DioraMoostebeers 05-25-2011 04:55 AM

I chose mine because in a just world freddie mercury would be on the hundred, not ben franklin.

Haters gonna hate.

Still called it. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

This is a Ryan Kesler '94 Vancouver Canucks home jersey. The last time the Canucks made it to the Stanley cup finals was in '94, and they fell one goal short.

I put it up before the playoffs started because I felt that this year's team would make the cup finals too.

Minutes after Ben posted this, the Sharks scored on Vancouver and Ryan Kesler limps off to the dressing room looking quite injured.

Shots are 21-7 for San Jose.

Shots are 21-7 for San Jose. And what's the score? Still 1 all. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Until then the Canucks had been leading all the way through.

secondmortgagek 05-25-2011 05:30 AM

You "called" what? The bold prediction that the #1 team in the NHL would make it to the finals? If it was so obviously, why didn't you make that call?

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif

And even then, they almost lost to the worst team to squeak into the playoffs I had Chicago ranked as the number 2 team in the playoffs. Take away the gimme points and they would have been right up there.

They were arguably the second best team in the entire league.

What collapse? The Canucks won. Earth to Asher.

You're talking out of your ass. The entire thread you were deriding the Hawks and saying how different they were from the championship team, how they lacked character because they "backed into the playoffs", etc.

You also predicted a Vancouver sweep of them.

Don't act like you saw them as a credible opponent.

What collapse? The Canucks won. Yes, what collapse?

The Canucks were up 3-0 in the series, then came within a couple inches of losing the whole series in game 7 to the last-seed team.

It was a legendary collapse that the Canucks were VERY lucky to escape out of. The highest paid goaltender in the league was pulled in how many consecutive games? He lost enough trust that the coach even refused to start him in game 6, in favour of a rookie kid...

You're talking out of your ass. So you think you know better then me what I was thinking? Hilarious.

Tell me, what am I thinking about now asher?

Oh, and you might want to stop crapping all over the thread and take this to the gamethread.

The score is now 2-1 San Jose. But the Canucks were, indeed, leading "all the way through", somehow from 0:00 of the game!

Is it really time to start sweeping this under the rug? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif

What's there to say, an x-mas robot. I just think he looks kinda cute. If robots are the future I prefer this one over his terminator buddies that run around killing people left and right.

It's interesting how the Conqueror of Canada enjoys fame in the UK, while France barely even knows that Canada once belonged to them, let alone despise the names of the incompetents who managed to lose such a defensive position as Quebec City.

The French are good at writing filosofy, but their understanding of economic interest has always been astoundingly bad. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif
