That wasnt a natural earthquake it was a impact tremor. Will's mother was reaching for the TV remote and fell off her chair.

Ha, my mother is actually pretty fit for a 59 year old. More so, she is completely aware of her body type, she thinks it is embarrassing when people are delusional about their own.

Don't you agree, lard ass?

Must have sucked growing up with big bones. All that teasing probably lead to a deep hatred and pent up anger issues, eh?

I think you might be onto something there... but...

What happened to SYBFM? I think the fact that it died on its feet (coincidentally when I left the group), shows that the people who are happy bantering are not happy bantering unless there are people who are unhappy bantering around to make fun of.

Where I come from, that's called bullying.

I'm not buying that. Nobody really brought anything to the table in SYBFM.

I like to think that I'll give anyone grief if they make a stupid comment, and I expect to get it back if I make the stupid comment. I call a spade a spade and if you can't deal that go sell some more of Greece.

People should be able to come to a tech forum, maybe get something wrong from time to time, and not be vilified.

If you look at Arstechnica forum for example, if you mess up you'll get your arse handed to you, but it never gets personal.

Well I can't speak for the other boards as I only post on GD, but if anyone has a genuine query I'm more than happy to help. If people continue to argue for things that can be disproved very quickly on Google then they deserve the grief for being so lazy.

For as long as I can remember here there has been an attitude of oneupmanship on everything though. It's possibly the least functional online community I have come across. I guess maybe because it started as benchmarking, where everyone is in competition with each other.

A lot of people don't seem to be particularly experienced in socialising either, so their humour doesn't hit the mark all the time. That and when I say things in my head I laugh about them because it's something I'd laugh about with my friends, but if you're not as thick-skinned as us lot it would cause offense I guess.

Zoo,

You started this bullying and vilifying crusade after the "sexual harassment" thread. All of those "personal attacks" were no more personal than the mother jokes that you make, but since you took it personally the whole forum has to change. I see.
