Default First world problems - but seriously, F U, FedEx
Was eagerly awaiting a delivery this past friday that's now turned into a mess. See image of tracking info page for whine.

I have been working from home since my injury and I track where packages are for techs. I see this constantly, especially if the delivery guy doesn't go to the front of the business and deliver. Docks closed, business must be right?!
ugh

This happened to me the other day with UPS, they left the sticker on the door, but never rang the door bell. Why? I picked it up at the hub later that day.

I ship over 100 packages a day via USPS and this **** happens all the time. UPS and Fed Ex are no better. Quite frustrating.

USPS does this all the time. The mailbitch is too lazy to go up three flights of stairs so she just leaves a note. The PO is only a block away but it is a cluster**** with lines out the door on nearly a daily basis.

Now I just have USPS mail packages to my work.

It's more likely that she would just rather not risk bumping into you.

Yup, and many times they don't even leave a note. Worse yet is the tracking will say delivered.

Ugh, very frustrating.

One time the UPS guy left a stick on my door and didn't knock as well. Now I just have everything delivered to work.

Government workers who don't work at the pace of anyone else's life, because: They don't have to.

Cut it off and make them live or die on their value... and I bet those lines will diminish. I say this as someone who has spent too many cumulative hours waiting in a PO line to get or send something. Now, I avoid it like the plague. UPS and Fedex have their problems but 1 person at the register doing their nails between each customer is not one of them.

The PO is like the DMV. They will be paid whether 5 people get through a line per hour, or 5000, so why do more than 5?

It's a tradeoff. USPS is dirt cheap, especially to ship stuff overseas. A private delivery service will charge 2 to 3 times what you pay in shipping at USPS. The downside is the service is a joke and tracking non-existent.

And I agree, UPS workers are far more knowledgeable and helpful, despite being heavily unionized.

I have no problem with private unions, as long as joining is a choice. The union at UPS is pretty weak too, your ass would be fired with union approval for half assing like the USPS workers do. (i mean counter workers who actually have someone looking over their shoulder, not carriers).

Really, the biggest problem with the USPS is the counter workers. That and the blue hairs taking up 20 minutes deciding which animal stamps to purchase.

So true. My experience with USPS is great until I actually have to go into a post office. Then it is sheer frustration. I gave my local branch over $100,000 worth of business last year alone, and while my postman is cool as hell, going into the PO was horrible. I was scolded like a child for not putting a clear customs envelope on the package (which they were out of).

Blue hairs not only at the counter but behind it at USPS. They are soooo slow to do anything. Don't you dare use a credit card to pay either, they are flabbergasted by the idea of paying without cash. Yuck.
