Default The Dark Knight Rises
Has anyone else seen it yet? good movie 8.5/10 imo. The story is deeper then any of the other movies and the action is much much greater. Still after seeing it im not so sure its better then tdk (but def better then Batman Begins) worth a watch for any Bat fan.

Very enjoyable and definitely "a movie experience.". Won't spoil anything but Nolan may not be done with the "universe."

Yea, Tom Hardy's peformance as Bane in TDKR is memorable imo. He really made the movie what it was. I even think he carried the movie, more so then Christina Bale did (tho Bale had a great performance too) Anne Hatheway didnt disappoint as catwoman either, she did a good job. All in all i was a good movie.

He isn't done. Its already common knowledge that the next Batman will be coming out in 2015 with Nolan directing. There are talks to get Gorden Levitt as the next Batman as well.

LOL! if you have not seen the dark knight rises you may be in store for a suprize at the end of the movie on that Levitt being the next Batman. (it was just too obvious that they wanted him to be the next Batman) :P

Gordon-Levitt would need to find a gym, and fast, if he wants to be the next Batman

**Spoilers**

I know his name is Robin, but if you watched the movie you would know that Batman is gone and won't be coming back. Rumor has it that Nolan's take on Robin will have him being the successor to Batman, with Levitt still wearing the Batsuit as Batman. This is all rumor of course. (Except Nolans involvement in the 2015 reboot.) Get back in your box Goku.

I agree.

Great movie, and I will be watching it many more times.

**spoilers**

But I wish Alfred was in the movie more in the second half, him leaving just doesn't seem to fit the character... Since Wayne Manor is on the edge of the city, I suppose he was never trapped on the island.

The scene with Selina, Bruce and Alfred at the end is perfect though.

Even though you knew it was coming, it was still great. I'm completely satisfied with the way they ended the trilogy.

I loved it. I was expecting a lot, and the movie delivered over and above. I guess that's all I really need to say about it.
The only issue nagging me about it this morning is this (minor spoilers):

So, Bane and 15 others rob the stock exchange and then escape. The police:
1. Chose to chase batman for no apparent reason? There were even batman impersonators in the second movie, soo... Yeah, great decision.
and
2. Nobody notices that at the exact time the stock exchange was robbed, Wayne industries loses all of its money. Like, nobody makes that connection whatsoever.

For some reason I woke up at 6am today. No idea why, I like to sleep in when I can. But for some reason I couldn't and since it was 7am I started flipping through stuff on the phone. Low and behold, I see an 8am IMAX showing for TDKR, and decide why the hell not.

End result?

The Dark Knight is the better film, it feels more polished, the story and characters feel more fleshed out. But I don't think TDKR is a bad film, I enjoyed it.

I think you would be hard-pressed to find someone who disagrees with you.

TDK just felt like there was more tension, always whats happening next, the twist and turns were blind the first time through.

Examples of unexpected things and the tension.

Joker's Magic trick with the pencil. Lying about who was in which warehouse. The detonators on the boats and the people's refusal to use them.

Part of that is of course Heath Ledger's incredible performance as the Joker which no one can ever argue with.

It's clear to me that they were trying to do something different with each film. Not just plot-wise but tone, and even genre. IMO, this was the best BATMAN movie ever. I've never enjoyed the character so much. Every time he appeared to save the day, it put a big smile on my face. Bane was terrifically menacing, so Batman's struggle to defeat him was that much more triumphant.

One thing I hate about superhero movies is that they seem to forget to use some of their extraordinary abilities most of the time. From the moment Bruce's EMP was introduced, Batman was using it constantly. I even loved how it backfired on him in his first confrontation with Bane. This movie delivered so much comic book fan-service, they even went overboard with JGL's reveal in the end (I was expecting it, but not THAT on-the-nose). I want to see it again, and I hope Nolan keeps the reins tight on Goyer and Snyder, so they don't F' up Superman next year.

Completely agree, I can't think of another super hero movie where the final confrontation is as satisfying.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again too, but probably not in the cinema. None of the screens near me seem to know how to set the sound levels properly, they always seem to favour putting the volume beyond what the speakers can cope with. So when there is a lot happening, it just becomes a distorted mess.

I thought it was crap, not a patch on the previous two and certainly nowhere as good as Dark Knight. It was way too long, Batman was a cripple and spent the majority as plain old Bruce Wayne. Not sure if it was the sound setup in the cinema but I could barely hear what Bane was saying as there was too much bass in the voice..

5/10

For reference I gave the first Batman 8/10 and Dark Knight 10/10.

Their not releasing offical figures yet but rumours around the net have been saying that TDKRs box office gross is right around 170 million for the weekend, which was on the lower end what was expected (some thought it may get to 190-210 million) this is due to the colorado shootings. But still a good weekend for the movie.

Upwards estimates of $162M still makes it the highest grossing non-3D movie ever. Source
